The Manchester United Thread

Ahaha, VAR ****** United over there! It was a goal.

They got both wrong. The Smalling handball is a simple penalty decision without VAR. The Mata goal didn’t look like he was off either.

Same as the last round. It’s a shambolic farce. Totally and utterly against this coming in.

Although looking at that image just posted by rh, only Town have been done over. He’s off by a knee in that image. No benefit of the doubt the attacker with VAR.

Still 100% against it regardless.

Now that was sexy. Lukaku's playing really good lately. Great ball from Alexis.

Lukaku has been the shining light last few weeks, all round game looks very strong and progressing into something truly exciting.

Should get couple mins. They've been kicking the ankles of us, not too surprised.

Part of Mata's knee crosses the line (the proper line that is), so it's correct offside.

And that weirdass yellow line shown on the TV, frankly looks to me like someone deliberately tries to make VAR look bad. World War 2 computers had capability to digitally plot out a straight line, for god's sake.

And somehow I'm supposed to believe that a multi-million system developed in XXI century, playtested in countless countries and already active in many top leagues, has people draw lines by hand?

Something doesn't add up here.

McTominay was brilliant today, absolute workhorse and warrior. A bit like Fellaini but can only get better!

Thought he was bang average personally, like every time I see him in a United shirt. But at least he's consistent, I guess?!

Solid game from him today. Kept it simple gave the team balance and helped Matic out and made a few interceptions. Don’t get the negativity towards him by most Utd fans tbh. He would of been a better option than Lingard in a 3 against Spurs. His mentality is fantastic and will only improve as a player!

Ye, in the end, it was offside. But still it's laughable. Hopefully next time it will be better. VAR can be really, really effective.

He's offside but thatsa shambles. Worth noting how much better BT Sports piero system (the black line) was

Mourinho was full of praise for Scott McTominay after #MUFC's FA Cup win - & believes the midfielder deserves more recognition. "Because it looks like England is missing him, if I was Alex McLeish the first thing I would do would to be [makes phone gesture] come to me" (via MUTV)

Mourinho on Scott McTominay: "Honestly, I think Scott deserves more than what he is getting. I think maybe it's because he's this kind of kid profile: a normal haircut, no tattoos, no big cars, no big watches, humble kid, arrive in the club when he was nine or 10" #MUFC

Mourinho on McTominay: "Last season he was almost leaving the club to go somewhere, who knows where, who knows in which division he would be playing now. I think the kid deserves a little bit more (recognition)" #MUFC
