The Manchester United Thread

L'pool were lucky to even score a goal ( though they didn't even manage to do that, ha!). Brilliant from Mourinho to start only 2 out of 3 available midfielders. All in all, it was men against boys. Could've been more, a lot more. But I'll take it.

Lukaku has been seriously chanelling Drogba last couple of games that I've seen him.

Didn't expect that win :D
What a day... United beat Liverpool and Ireland beat Scotland.

Just started watching the u18s game. Greenwood’s first goal is fantastic dribbles past 4/5 WBA players then places it in the bottom corner :O

Greenwoods second gl was easy lol. Long ball out from the back CB gets caught underneath it and Greenwood has an easy 1 on 1 tap in past the keeper.

Where do you get from?

Let me preface this by saying congratulations and I personally thought L'pool deserved nottin' from the game today. But yuse were lucky. Yers were hanging on for dear life the last 20 minutes in a real nervy OT. Pawson turns down two clear penalty's and doesn't send off Rashford when he should have. Another day L'pool, who were off it today, more than get something.

Well done. Don't personally think we deserved much of anything. But let's not flip that into some sort of solid Utd victory.

Nothing more than we deserved. Lukaku constantly pulled into the channel between TAA and Lovren. And rather than worry abouy playing through the counterpress, we just bypassed the midfield early on :D

Rashford could have had a hat trick and a red card.

That's exactly what it was though. The biggest goal threat of yours was from Bailly's own goal. Not that we need validation from Liverpool fans on a good win.

Hey, your game plan was perfect for Mourinho. And we played into his hands by gifting yers two goals. But ultimately you got lucky with Pawson depriving an off L'pool of a chance of an equaliser. We looked like the home team second half and you were hanging on. We just didn't create from it.

No problem losing the game. Not even really annoyed as we look like the side in the ascendency out the two. Mourinho's Utd are getting by on attrition. Managed the game really well. Defended really well. Assaulted Salah to F off the ball but f you get away with it, fair play. All part of defending. But a lot of luck went Utd's way today and yers were clinging on the end let's be honest.

Burkart goal was good u18s 3rd. Cuts in from the RW beats 2 players and curls in a good shot on his weaker left foot into the far bottom corner.

He's always had that ability, but his intensity has gone up a notch, been immense.

Just noted the L'pool thread what a ******** Lovren has made of himself this week/ today.

If yers gonna' chat ***** on someone, as he had Lukaku this week, **** well make sure you can back it up. He didn't and got his **** handed to him by Lukaku. Real good hour from him.

Although why we put Lovren on him to start with and not van Dijk is as baffling as anything again.

Possibly he told Kopp he could cope ;) and Kopp believed him.

Lukaku picked out Lovren's area and posted him up like any good CF would do against the weakest link. Cannot have VVD chase him around the field and lose any sort of structure. Long ball United worked. Disappointed in Liverpool as their Big 3 were completely absent. Ashley Young taking Salah completely out of the game, who would of thought that beforehand?

You're not chasing him anywhere. You're passing him over to the stronger centre-half in an opponent's particular area of strength you're better suited to. As all good partnerships do.

Credit to Young. Quietest Salah's been kept all year long. But not so much on Pawson and the lino who allowed him to get kicked and pulled all over off the ball. Took some real abuse. Not narked at Utd over it. That's old school defending that the Italians are masters at. You can get away with it then fair ***** to you. (L'pool have lacked that kind of shithousery for too long now. Lot to be said for it.). Just the **** poor officiating that failed to clamp down on it.

From the game.
Liverpool were like a dog who barks. Had possession, but ******** themselves everytime United was on a break. Oh, and about injustice that happen to L'pool, let me paraphrase what Kobe once said to Howard. You're soft.

You should have been the ground mate to see how much your own fans were '******** themselves' most all the second half and the exultant relief the final whistle.

But I'm not getting into a back and forth with revisionist history.

Congratulations on the win.
