The Manchester United Thread

I CANNOT FATHOM THIS ONE BIT, THIS IS A SEVILLA TEAM THAT GOT TROUNCED 5-0 BY ATLETICO MADRID AT THEIR OWN GOD **** GROUND. AN ATLETICO MADRID SIDE THAT ARE EVEN LED BY A MORE NEGATIVE MANAGER THAN OURS. How can you lot be united fans and still support this absolute buffoon of a manager? He has had 4 transfer windows, 300m+ invested and he still plays absolute garbage football with garbage results. Some of you Mou fanboys had the audacity to criticize pochettino for going out to Juventus, the CL finalists last year. Your mourinho lost to Sevilla who aren't even gonna qualify for the cl next season. Worst of all is, he got tactically outclassed by Montella. Montella, you know, the worst manager in milan history.

Look I absolutely detest mourinho with a passion, but trying to actually act like liverpool was a lucky result is funny. You lot didn't create a single chance in the 2nd half and the goal you got was because of a mistake from one of our players. More possession sure, but it was all sideways passes while doing absolutely nothing with it.

United losing is worth it to see a redcafe like meltdown. The worst thing about the rant above is that it's coming from a grown man.

Anyway, we deserved to lose, that's pretty much season done. Onwards to next season

Onwards to next season? So you're legit just accepting mediocrity? This is man utd we're talking about, not some small club. We should not be accepting being 16 points of the leaders in March. We should not be accepting being knocked out of the CL in the round of 16 by a horrific manager in Montella. How can you actually be fine with this? Infuriating.

Seriously though, a game like today perfectly describes the entire problem with reactive tactics. You're basically raiding your luck and praying that one hail mary counterattack will put you in front.

Sure, a competent manager will be able to extract a good amount of results while playing like this. But there's ******* good reason why every other elite club stopped playing in this manner. There's being pragmatic and there's being a cowardly fool. Playing for a draw when you need a win, is in the second category.

The worst part is why were we even being pragmatic from the start of the match. Did we have an aggregate lead to defend? No. Was he seriously looking to just go to penalties?

You sound like one of the facebook arsenal fans. Anything less than winning the league, championsleague, and all domestic cups is mediocrity.....

Get real...you lost and probably shouldn't have but **** happens, ever play FM? Stop acting so entitled.

You're on an FM site and asking me if I ever played FM, lol. Also, when did I say that winning all trophies is the only thing that doesn't make it a medicore season? What the ****, no one has those expectations. However, for a 500+ million team, any utd fan should expect more than being 16 points behind our 2nd biggest rivals, crashing out of the ro16 to a highly inferior team. If you honestly accept this, you're accepting mediocrity. Remember this is utd, not Southampton, leicester, stoke, etc...The expectations at united are far greater than those sides. Our financial power, the quality of our players alone should not see us being this bad. This utd squad is talented, however the manager has no clue how to utilize it properly. If he can't do that after having 4 transfer windows, 300m+ in financial backing and 2 full seasons with this squad, he has no right to be a utd manager.
Its amazing how you lot are not furious after looking at how other managers are using their players in this league. Does it not infuriate you that our attacking talent is close to city, but city's are performing better because they have an actual attacking coach. Does it not infuriate you that their attackers are putting up immense numbers when ours could be doing the same if we had a attacking coach? Pep has been in this league the same amount of time as Mou and has spent almost the same amount. There is no excuse for Pep to outperforming Mou massively. No excuse, I repeat.

On serious note on 1-10, how to scale that De Gea wont try to get out and leaving?
So many people Smashing Spurs and telling Kane that if he wants titles he needs to move on. What about De Gea, elite GK that gives u his all, there must be some serious thought at back of his head.

It saddens me to say this but considering all the money and hype, Sanchez could be this years biggest transfer flop.

Don’t think there’s a chance he leaves. Sanchez defo been a flop so far. But most winter transfers never hit the ground running. Will judge him from next season. Least it looks like he gives a **** and trying things unlike a few players in the squad. Bakayoko or Morata will have been bigger flops this season.

We look better without Sanchez that's for sure... but we're paying him so hefty and there was such hype that dropping him would be commercial suicide. It kind of sums up everything wrong with modern football.

Honestly I'm just sick of Mourinho, he bottles so many games and we don't deserve to win a tournament when we are not even setup to win. Also his comments annoy me just as badly, inflating his own ego after such a CL loss.

I knew as soon as that first game ended 0-0 we were in big trouble. You have to take the advantage away from home, we seemingly didn't want to and now it has cost us big time.

Tldr; if youve played FM then you should be wiser than your acting. Shrug

It's so sad we only have 1 ******* player who can play on the Right Wing (Mata).. Martial, Rashford and Lingard all become disabled kids when they play there for some reason. :'(

And I really hope that Shaw gets to play more now and that Rojo or Lindelöf gets a good run next to Bailly.. maybe we can start building up from the back instead of Young and Smalling hoofing it every **** time.. :(

Mou: "I've sat in this chair twice before, with Porto - Man Utd out, with Real Madrid - Man Utd out, so this is nothing new for this football club." #MUFC

what the ****?!
