And here is where we will differ, I watched the City game, and for 45-something minutes couldn't believe how badly wrong he had got it. We looked plain awful, huge gaps for City to exploit and but for the fact Sterling couldn't hit a thing we would have been 4 or 5 down by half time.

Superb comeback, granted, but from two nil down against the best team in the country not a 'success' as we had to fight back from said two-nil down.

Results are good against the top six BUT, how many of them come when he has to switch from Plan A to plan B? The top managers get Plan A right the first time.

Only time I really felt Mou got it right first time was against Liverpool, with the long balls over their high press but even them, 2nd half we looked 2nd best because he changed things.

Yes, it was a fantastic fight back against City, one of United's finest, but I am hesitant to give Mou all the credit, as I feel, and am hearing, the players were the ones who fired themselves up - Young, Pogba, Herrera in particular.

It was Sir MAtt who once said "Winning isn't everything, winning in style is what matters" and I just don't see Mourinho as 'United'.

Not sure how you could hear all that, and ignore the fact he was the one who started it,saying, do we want to be remembers as jokers. They all got fired up for each other, manager and senior players.

And this plan A stuff is ridiculous. Ferguson was incredibly adaptable. Plenty are.

I'd rather people simply say they don't like Mourinho than invent absolutely bizarre reasons to justify their dislike (criticising a manger for turning a game around, really?)

He's had a shocker of a week.

On Jose, there is plenty he can be criticised for, but he certainly deserved praise for the comeback, as do the players involved. That's the blueprint for the rest of the season and next season.

Why wouldn't he rest players? He brought in Gundogan, Danilo & Bernardo Silva. Most teams would kill for that option. The Liverpool selection was all/very wrong but the Derby choice is easily in the ballpark of justifiable for me anyway.

I am/was well in the x points in y game left, so when rather than if a few weeks ago. (pretty much the arsenal/chelsea back to back) so i'm prob in the minority.

I would rather win no matter what cost tbh. And we have played some great stuff at times this season. And the players on MUTV said Mourinho said not to be like the clowns at the party. And it’s better to have a different plans and be adaptable and pragmatic at times. Fergie was brilliant at this.

3 points is 3 points, i agree to a point, and the limited press i get since moving to New Zealand attributed the 'clowns' thing to Smalling but I still think we could be, no, with the talent we have, should be closer than 13 points and I can only put that down to the manager and his tactics. 3 points won with 90 minutes of attractive, attacking football and a 1-0 win is better IMO than 3 points won with a stifled, restrained and cautious 1-0.

I won't judge a whole season on the one result, this is Mou's second season so we should be seeing his 'DNA' coming through in the performances, and it looks pretty stifled to me for the most part, next season will be the telling one. Historically it's his third season when it starts to fall apart, and some of the stories I hear about his handling of players looks pretty much true to form, but I will reserve judgement.

So, sorry if I offended Mike, I certainly didn't 'invent' anything bizarre to justify anything tbh, so please lets not get into one. I don't like his tactics or enjoy his football philosophy and I really don't think the Badge suits him.

Smalling said Mourinho said it at half time in his post match interview. The amount of points we currently have would have us close in a serious title challenge in all but a couple of seasons.

Max Johnstone recently released by United, mentioned towards the end of an article on Sam Johnstone in the Guardian. Perhaps not a great surprise given Max barely played for the U23s or the U18s. Also says Sam is ready to settle at Villa permanent.

Well and what has he gained by resting them exactly? He neither secured the title nor turned around the CL tie. I really think it's a silly decision he made. If you can win the title in a derby, you play your best team. It should be a no brainer. Or at least send them on in the 2nd half to kill off the game with the 2-0 lead.

Put the match-going fans first, it's them you play for.

The same thing happened with salah, kdb and lukaku. Mourinho is just an idiot, in all honestly. One would think he would learn from past mistakes. Plus, martial has more potential than all 3 when they were at Chelsea. If I was Martial, I would definitely choose to do what is the best for my career and sign for juve or tottenham. At least with any of those clubs, he will have a manger who doesn't drop him after being player of the month and scoring many goals for a out of form and declining 29 year old. I don't want to see him go, but it is best for his career. If a manager will play someone who was out of form for 3 months and derailed our season over a player who was in form and performing very well, it's clear he has no future here, sadly. I will be sad if he leaves, but happy for him because he will be able to showcase his immense ability under a manager who isn't a dinosaur and stifles attackers. The worst scenario would be that we replace martial with Bale, a player who's finished and very injury prone. Or even worse, Perisic, lololol. Inter fans hate his guts and some of you lot were calling out for him in the summer.
