This is what happened in Malaysia and basically other major Asian competitions in the season, particularly the Asian Champions League and the Asian Confederations Cup.
So at Selangor we have launched upgrades to our youth facilities. Also, the takeover is under serious consideration to be completed which means there is a transfer embargo currently.
We signed a former KL Rovers player, Mohd Faizal Mohd Alias has signed for Selangor for 11.25k pounds. Getting the band back together. First Metha Viblo, then Francesco Paolucci, Gabriel Hawash and now Mohd Alias. The Harry Redknapp way. The takeover has collapsed btw, that means we can do transfers again.
There is some transfer activity. Mohd Kamil Abu Samah has joined Selangor for 11.75k pounds from Pahang. Ariff Ar-Rasyid Ariffin went to Perak for 3.2k pounds. Also Gabriel Hawash has gone on loan to Polis DRM.
There is some transfer activity. We signed Agung Fendy for 5.75k pounds from Kalteng Putra FC. We sold Muhd Azam Azmi Murad to Kuala Lumpur for 16.75k pounds. And we bought in Muhd Haikal Zainudin for 19k pounds from Kelantan.
We made three more signings. Dani Aprilianto has come from Arema on a free transfer to Selangor. We have also signed Azlan Abdul Kadir from Pahang for 11.25k pounds and we signed Razali Abdul Halim for 2.8k pounds from Sarawak United.
So we have brought in two players who played for us at KL Rovers. One is Thavakumar Appavoo, he was on loan at KL Rovers earlier when we were there. We got him on loan from Sabah. The other player is Samuel Martins from KL Rovers for 9.25k pounds plus a player going the other way called Nazri Amiruddin. Also Samuel Martins has gone back on loan to KL Rovers. Our season started with a 1-1 draw against Perlis Utd.
Shaky start to the season. There is some transfer activity though. Dani Aprilianto and Rudi Effendi have gone on loan to PSS. We signed two players. One is Pavol Halabrin on a free transfer. And then we signed Yasin Pala from Viktoria Koln for 1.5k pounds to Selangor.
So there is a bit of transfer news. Josiah Roberts has come to Selangor on a free transfer from Bloem Celtic in South Africa. We are going to face Persada Integriti Bersatu FC in the Malaysian FA Cup second round. And we suddenly appear to have started clicking this season.
The transfer window has closed but we have signed two players who will come in, during the next transfer window. Former KL Rovers player Muhd Zhafir Mohd Yusoff joins the club on a free transfer and we have also signed Mitch Herrmann from Ipswich Knights on a free transfer. Also Thavakumar Appavoo has gone back to Sabah.
We had a thrilling game of football in the Malaysian FA Cup. We won that game 5-4 against PIB. Metha Viblo scored all FIVE goals. He is putting our hottest prospect Rizal Rozali to shame and proving that age is just a number and that consistency is what matters. Metha Viblo is 31 years old so he is not that old. Also we will face Perlis United in the next round of the Malaysian FA Cup.
Metha Viblo continues his stunning form. Also we sold A. Shivan Pillay to Mitra Kukar for 17.25k pounds. Also Jonas Brunner is coming to Selangor in the next transfer window from Inglostadt II on a free transfer.
We got knocked out of the Malaysian FA Cup by Perlis United where we lost 3-0. Samuel Martins has come back from his loan spell from KL Rovers. And we won another league game.
So here is some news. Selangor has been taken over. We have new owners. This is fantastic news. A fresh start. I am so excited to see what can happen in the future and I hope it means there is a better chance of me getting a new contract soon.
Some steady results in the league makes sure that we are sitting in 3rd place, with promotion in touching distance. Earlier we were very inconsistent in the league. We need an insane run of form to cement promotion and everyone could do their best to get it.
Two defeats back to back mean that we are now in a precarious position. And I have been called for a board meeting. I have to get 8 points in the next 5 games otherwise I will be sacked by Selangor. Meanwhile I have applied for other jobs looking for an exit strategy in case there could be another board meeting.
So a shocking run of form sees us slip to 6th place in the league. Also the groups of the Malaysian Cup have been drawn. We have KL Rovers, Kuala Lumpur and Polis DRM in our group. Meanwhile I have completed 1 year at Selangor. The only other club I stayed for more than a year was Wealdstone.
So I have got my Continental Pro License finally. Our league form is tumbling and we have lost the plot. I also rejected the Kedah job in the Malaysian Super League as they wanted to pay me lower wages than what I am earning at Selangor.
