From what I have seen, players such as Assou- Ekottu and Luca Modric have been very consistent over the last 3 or 4 games, but it depends how you would measure form, and over what period?

Completely based on your opinion, bud.

Did he score today?

No?

Guess he's not in the sort of form Pitman's in then. :D

So did he scored 8 in 4. You said 7 in 7, I said 8 in 4, which one is better? Also, Pitman hasn't scored in every game so your theory is flawed.

I'd say its got to be van der vaart, he's scored alot of goals and brought something differnt to the spurs side, they arent just all about raw pace of bale and lennon and defoe anymore, now they can mix it up through the middle with van der vaart, doesnt seem to have a poor side to his game at the moment. As a biased view from a united supporter nani is up there for me too, he has scored alot of goals for a midfielder, starting to fill that gap left by ronaldo now, and he is up there with nearly 10 assists too, bout time he pulled his finger out. and for an unmentioned name, perhaps ji sung park, already scored more goals this season then last, and still constantly battles for every ball and doesnt stop working.

Van der Vaart, Bale, Nasri and Berbatov are THE in form players. Berbatov doesn't work a lot I know, but the flicks and passes that he takes out of nowhere are nothing short of world class he plays parts in so many united goals with amazing faint touches that no-one else in the prem is as good at and yet people complain he doesnt do anything for the team. All of uniteds inter-play goes through him, he is absolutely essential to the way united play.

oh jeez i forgot about welbeck, hes definately in form and has been sunderlands bright spark this season. Oh and caroll's been doing really well as well.

I apologise if you read some sort of theory in my last post. It was actually meant as an irrefutable statement.

I am actually surprised I'm the only one who's mentioned a non-Prem player. This isn't asking the best player in England, it's surely relative to league. And relative to the Championship, Bretty's on fire.

hopefully with nasri playing so well he'll be improved in the next patch

I think reading the opening posts that this thread was specific to the EPL, but that just may be what I think.

In response to you saying Pitman is on fire, I'm sure he is. I haven't seen him play but I know he has 7 in 7 and that is not bad. My counter is Berbatov has been better as he has 8 in 4 , which is more goals in less games so isn't Berbatov playing better on that basis?

On games to goals basis, yes. :)

Because he mentioned a Prem player? If he asked this in 'The Rest' forum and then said Messi, I wouldn't think it was limited to La Liga, do you see?

I stopped talking about Berba, and made a point that I was talking about relative to the league. You seem to quite like him though. It's folk like you that make him have to rush to his car at the end of a game in order to avoid a love-knifing.

Also, the passes and what Berbatov contributes to Man U's play is world class. For example against Birmingham recently, he commanded the flow of play that lead to the goal, and the with the flick it looked like Barcelona were playing!!

As I said before, I can't comment on Pitman's contributions apart from goals, but Berbatov's goals to games is better than Pitman's. ;)

Also, I'm not his biggest fan, I don't think he has re-paid his £30M fee, but currently his form (last 4 games) has been magical. Anyway this will be my last post on Berbatov unless, someone picks up this topic again.

EDIT: Btw I thought it was just EPL, due to post 3.

Based on stats? Gareth Bale, Samir Nasri and Andy Carroll are three of the players right up there.

Based on overlooked performance and keeping play ticking over? Luka Modric, David Silva and Marc Albrighton are all worth a mention for me.

I've got to agree with Berbatov, Nasri, Bale, Van Der Vaart, Modric etc who hav all been playing superbly but would also like to add a few others that have had generally good seasons so far like Albrighton, Charlie Adam, Elmander, Tevez, Joe Hart, Yaya Toure, Vidic, Tiote, Carroll, Welbeck and Chris Brunt.
