The other internationals

no they shouldn't since the polish players have lived in Germant since they were children, and two of them have a German parent

Lol, they SHOULD ... you're more thinking rules ... I'm thinking nationality.

I am Scottish but if I have kids born in England then they are English ... full stop.
Sure they qualify by footy rules to play for either country (if good enough) but I'd always tell them to play for their country of birth because THAT'S what matters ... where you are born as opposed to whatever kind of rules are in place for poaching.

Still we should agree to disagree ... no point falling out over it.

obviously he does, so dont be childish

It's not being childish ... it's called a sense of humor ... you should get one for yourself :P

Oh wait, you have ... you support Man Utd (6)

except its not funny..... keep it the pointless comments though, and earn an infraction (6)

Common sense would prevail IF they played for the country in which they were born and in this case that would be ? yep, Poland and not Germany.

These fellows were born in Poland and no matter where they are raised and who says what ....they are Polish. simplz as the meercat would say
;)

How do you mean an 'infraction' ?
Like being got into some kind of trouble because I happen to have a different opinion to you sir ? and no matter how you dress this up it is about opinions .. now who is being childish ?
Grow -up for Pete's sake man. .. it's a footy forum... footy is ALL about opinion and the day you lose that oh man .... not worth it.

My throw away comment comes from the fact that Scotland and Spain are in the same section for qualifying ... see the funny side please ?

I often heard it was the Germans who had no sense of humor ... c'mon have a laugh about it. no need to be sooooo serious, goodness me.

So if you were born in Nicaragua, and gained for instance Brazilian nationality, and be a good player, you would be still playing for Nicaragua ? if that is the case, then you are dumb ;)

So if (and it's a big if) Cruz Beckham one day becomes a footballer should he only ever play for Spain because he was born there?

Stop trolling the thread please.

Great result, result of the night for Northern Ireland eh ?

Currently Croatia - Greece = 0-0
******* greece, they park the bus in front of his goal!

2-1 AUS v Poland
Two tthing stand out. Acrooss the park the Aussies hae tremendous workrate and across the park the Aussies are very technically lackin. Emerton sent off after 70mins, Adam Federici was outstanding in goal. 2 penalties one each for both teams but with the Polish missing. Polish unlucky, dominated possesion and had so many clearcut chances. Polish very impressive out wide

The friendly between Argentina vs Spain is currently 3-0 to Argentina,
Messi with a lob
Higuain rounded Reina and scored from a tight angle
Reina howler let Tevez in to score

WTF is happening to Spain? 3-0?? Can anyone watching this give me a little summary?

Scotland are doing really well...............................................

France beat Bosnia away 2-0 Benzema and super Flo Malouda with the goals.

They're missing Xavi?
also Germany 6-1 Azerbaijan, :) 2 goals for Klose, and a first international goal for Holger Badstuber as well

Update from Argentina. Half time now and the score is:

Argentina 3-0 Spain

Messi scored the first after neat midfield passing, and i think Macherano's pass, from almost the byline, Messi somehow managed to chip Pepe Reina from 6 yards out...

Higuain scored the second after going round Reina, his finish beat a sliding Gerard Pique on the line.

Tevez then added the third after a backpass to Reina, with the keeper losing his footing and Tevez pouncing on the loose ball to score.

David Villa hit the post for Spain after his close range FK was deflected by the wall.

I'm not sure whether to be pleased or disappointed with Scotland... Pleased that they managed to get a last minute winner, but needing it against a country with a population less than the attendance is atrocious.
