Another largely disappointing month picking up only one league win. We comfortably beat League 2 Fleetwood to advance in the FA Cup thanks to two May goals. We conceded two late on against Arsenal after Thomsen pulled us back twice. We threw away a comfortable 2-1 half time lead against Villa to loose 3-2. We bounced back from 5 straight league losses with a 2-0 victory against Palace with Maguire and Thomsen getting the goals. A suprise away draw against Chelsea after Thomsen put us ahead in the first minuite put us in contention for a trip to Wembley but a dissapointing 3-1 home defeat ended that. Sandwiched between those Cup semi-finals was another cup game where we progressed to the FA Cup fifth round after van Dijk, Maghoma and Cornelius gave us victory over West Ham. We ended the month with another poor performance, loosing to Swansea at home. We're now only 10 above the relegation places and need to improve our season could die out.

Nicolaj Thomsen, signed for just 2 million, has been a revalation this season and has kicked on despite our poor form since Christmas. Scoring 4 important goals this month he stood out against our out of form strikers.

We signed Andreas Cornelius to add some extra firepower to our misfiring strikers. He then got injured so we brought in Adam Le Fondre on loan to fill in. Chuks Aneke was brought in after showing terrific form in Belgium and Jonas Hector added strength to a weak position in the team. Loovens, Vermijl, Wilson and Bus all left the club.

Undefeated but still no win in the league. We scraped a draw against Stoke after Thomsen scored an injury time equaliser. We were robbed of a win when Norwich were awarded a dubious penalty after Maghoma and May put us ahead. We threw away a 2 goal lead and missed numerous chances against Man United at home. Palmer and McGugan put us in front before a Falcao brace pegged us back. Our only win of the month came against Everton in the FA Cup thanks to Aneke's first goals for the club. A week later we returned to Everton only to throw away another two points after leading 2-1 through a James Henry brace for so long. We need to start turning these draws into wins or our hopes of a mid-table finish will vanish.

Aneke has 2 goals and 2 assists in his first month at the club. He earned a call up to the Nigeria squad and replaced Maghoma in the starting XI and has become and integral member of the squad.
