Even if you stay in the middle of the park it will still be a good season but hopefully you can push up!

Definitely! Anywhere above 13th will be a fantastic season in my books, lots of great youth at Plymouth so it's just a case of developing those players until they're good enough to get us up the leagues. :)

Season One
January Update (2015):

With the start of a new year hopefully comes a new sense of belief, despite being marooned in mid-table for most of the season we still have the capability to climb up the table, we just needed the confidence.

Seeing as it's the start of a new calendar year I'll throw in this picture of the 2014 Ballon D'or award, some interesting faces to say the least and I'm surprised Messi didn't finish in the top 3!

Will CR7 claim the award in real life? I'd like to think so.

The start of the new year seemed to bring some new found confidence in the squad as we managed to claim two wins, two draws and only one defeat in our January fixtures.

The first game of 2015 saw us take on a defensively sound Morecambe side who were boasting one of the best defensive records so far this season, they proved the case by shutting us out for 90 minutes despite not creating many chances of their own, a stalemate!

We did slump to our first defeat of the year against a strong Shrewsbury side, a team expected to bounce back into League One quickly proving the media right as they nabbed a late winner to take the spoils.

Our next 3 matches saw us go unbeaten, picking up successive home wins against Stevenage and Luton Town, both results ending in a 2-1 victory.

In between these victories we drew to a Cheltenham side who were struggling near the bottom of the table although they were able to keep us out by effectively parking the bus..We had a few great chances but failed to capitalise and the game ended as it started.

League Table:

Annoying despite what I consider to be a successful month we were still down in 13th although we had managed to build a 4 point gap between us and 14th placed Mansfield and I mean we're only 3 points off the play-offs so the month wasn't all in vain!

Season One
February/March Update (2015):

January proved to be a great month in which we managed to rack up some points to give ourselves a shout of reaching the play-offs (Feel like I say this every update...) but really, we just needed to do it again.

News:

With the Winter transfer window coming to a close on the 2nd of February I hadn't made any transfers due to our financial position and no players had left the club. (Bar a youngster who had signed a pre-contract with Dundee United) but I did go looking for some loan signings to bring in to help bolster our squad a bit.

Loan Signing #1:
Iván Calero (Derby County); Monthly Fee: £0

The young Spaniard has been brought in to inject some pace into the side, knowing he can play out-wide or up front means he can bring some versatility to the squad and hopefully help us to create more chances going forward.

Loan Signing #2:
Liam Kelly (Reading); Monthly Fee: £0

The Reading youngster has fantastic stats for League Two level and has gone on to succeed in many of my previous FM saves over the past year, and with no full-out AMC's at the club I'm sure Kelly can act as the creative play-maker we've been without for the majority of the season. He's also not too shabby at set-pieces!

Loan Signing #3:
Michael Doughty (QPR); Monthly Fee: £0

Doughty is a QPR youngster who I've never really seen much of over the years, but he's got some nicely rounded stats and can certainly do a job for us in the middle of the park, a position where frequent injuries have occurred over the first half of the season.

Loan Signing #4:
Karim Rossi (Hull City); Monthly Fee: £0

Our last loan signing of the season saw Swiss youngster Karim Rossi join the club until the end of the season, having seen that his contract expires in the summer I thought it would be a good opportunity to familiarise him with the club in case we may be able to sign him come July, he's also got good finishing and pace for this level and can certainly compete with Reuben Reid for that #9 spot!

Youth Intake:

View attachment 723124

Before I knew it March 5th had rolled around the corner meaning we would receive our annual intake of youth prospects, and at league two level there's a good chance some of these players could find their way into the squad over the next year or so.

I consider this years youth intake to be a fairly successful one, especially for a club who don't have the best facilities or coaches, but there's a few players in here who could one day break into the first-team. The likes of Roy Firth, Nathan French and Aaron Sharples will certainly be under my watch as time passes.

The players ranging from Alex Amos downwards will not be signing at the club on a youth contract, I don't believe they have the stats necessary to succeed at the club but wish them all the best in their careers, maybe they'll prove me wrong one day!

These two months proved to bring another mixed bag as far as results are concerned with 4 wins, 4 losses and 3 draws from the 11 league matches played.

The wins coming against Accrington, Carlisle and Wimbledon as well as a massive Derby win against fierce rivals Exeter City, nothing pleases the fans quite like beating your rivals!
(Who by the way are now managed by Paul Sturrock, an Ex-Argyle manager!)

All 4 of our defeats came in away fixtures against Burton Albion, Northampton Town, Portsmouth and Cambridge United, if we were to get promoted our away form simply has to improve...

Disappointingly our 3 draws of the period came in home fixtures against York, Wycombe and Southend..Very disappointing that these were all at home as we really should be looking to take the wins at Home Park, especially with our away record...

League Table:

Would you believe it? We're in 13th still! I know we're predicted to finish here but ideally I'd like to surpass expectations and finish higher in the table, but I have to look on the positive side of things, at least we're not in a relegation battle.

Maybe a play-off push is too much to ask this year, more of a season for rebuilding.

Player Stats:

View attachment 723129

As you can see Reuben Reid has slipped off the scoring charts, hence the need to sign a few strikers on loan for the remainder of the season, it is nice however to see wide-man Lewis Alessandra on the assists board with a total of 9 in the league so far while Central Defender Curtis Nelson is 3rd in the Man of the Match table with 6 this season, not bad at all!

I think you will finish round where you are now mate but i hope you can push up, some great loan signings there and a nice Youth Intake as well
