Board Vision

So the board expect us to finish in the playoff spot at a minimum but that will also drop down if one of the 2nd teams in the league finish in the top 3 and we just need to be competitive in the cup so the league will be the main focus to ensure we meet the minimum expectations

One of the other expectations from the board is to repair the financial damage done to the club over the last few years even though we have over £5million in the bank at the moment

You can see though that we actually only get 10% of the transfer fees towards out budget which got me wondering what was going on so after a bit of digging the club are in a staggering £48.6 million of debt but luckily the larger sum doesn't come into effect until we are established in the top division so its not something we need to worry about straight away

Supporter Vision



Nothing too dissimilar here from the board vision apart from they want to see us brining through some youth players from the academy which is something I certainly want to do

Squad

We have a very large squad to work with this season which will be good with some young and exciting players as well to look forward to with the likes of Morgalla and Tallig so we have a lot of hope for the future as long as we can hold onto them all and continue the production line of players coming through. One of the benefits of having a larger squad means it will allow us to move some players on as well to reduce the wage budget to save money and also to continue to grow the bank balance

Transfers

So I decided to shift some of the older players in the team whose contracts were expiring at the end of the season instead of losing them on a free. Then there came some offers for Erik Tallig from larger teams to unsettle him meaning that he refused to sign a new contract with his current deal expiring at the end of the season so again it made sense to cash in on him while we could to raise some important funds.

Over the transfer window we only signed one player in Maurice Krattenmacher who is an exciting young German striker who only cost us £100,000 from SPVGG Unterhaching and we hope he can develop well at the club and come up the leagues with us.

Friendlies

We had ups and downs here with losing to no-league Carl Zeiss Jena straight after managing to beat Wolves but apart from that we can be happy as we try and adapt to the new tactics as we will look to play a 4-2-3-1

Expectations

Nothing different from the board expectations as expected for this season

Just the 2 games to see out the month but we did get a horrible draw in the DFB-Pokal this season and also start the league campaign against the favourites for the title

Dynamo Dresden v TSV 1860 Munchen

This was a horrible way to start the league but we really stepped up and got off to the best possible start with scoring from an early corner to take the lead and after that we never looked back as our attacking players got in on the fun as well.

We got very lucky here that Leipzig didn't put out a full strength team which we were thankful for as even though we went down very early they just couldn't finish as they had a whopping 20 shots at our goal with only 5 on target. The one good thing though is we did have more possession and completed more passing

A nice way to bounce back from the cup defeat as we keep our record in the league

We were very lucky here not to lose as SV Meppen scored a cracker to take the lead and then squandered another few chances before we got the equaliser

SC Verl v TSV 1860 Munchen

What a final few minutes as it looked nailed on for a defeat with just a minute of normal time to go before Wicht popped up with a goal from just outside the box after only being on the pitch for 10 minutes and again we looked to be losing after conceding 2 minutes later before Skenderovic scored a towering header with the final touch of the ball.

This time it was us who took the early lead before conceding before not being clinical enough upfront to score anymore

Viktoria Koln v TSV 1860 Munchen

We were always going to be up against it here after Moll made a crunching tackle in the opening minute but we did well to play defensively but Koln were sadly able to make the extra man count and break through our defence.

League

We're down in 6th at the moment after 6 games but still only 3 points off of 3rd which I guess isn't too bad with 2 wins from 6 games.

Transfers

With Tallig leaving I wanted to sign another midfielder who could hopefully add a bit of quality in the middle of the park so we signed our former player Moritz Leitner on a free transfer and he brings in a lot of experience to the team and he's still only 29

On deadline day we also saw Kevin Goden leave for SC Paderborn for £67,000

A much needed win after the last 4 games to get us back on track thanks to two well worked set pieces that we'd been working on in training.

The main talking point from this match was Krattenmacher coming on as a sub to score the 2nd goal and become the clubs youngest ever goal scorer

Krattenmacher was given the chance to start here given his last performance and he delivered again with a brace with one striking finish from just outside the box and the 2nd a typical poachers finish pouncing on a loose ball in the box

League

After a good month we find ourselves in 2nd place with 2 teams just behind us by a point.

Debt Update

There was an election at the club and a new president has been announced for the club and he's gone and wiped out the £52million loan that was against the club meaning we don't need to worry about paying anything ridiculous back once we reach the top.

Really not the result we wanted here as Dortmund played us off the park and we just couldn't cope with them at all

Steinhart scored a peach of a free kick to get us off to a great start but even though it was worthy of winning the game it sadly wasn't enough for us

Another poor result as we dominated the game here but just couldn't finish at all whereas they struck right at the death to deal the killer blow

A much better performance here as we bounce back and its Krattenmacher who puts in a MOTM performance with a goal either side of half time

Another poor game against a team we really need to be beating this season but thankfully Krattenmacher does enough to salvage us a draw.

We've fallen 5 points behind 3rd spot now but thankfully hold onto the playoff spot. We need to find something else to help get these draws into wins.

TSV 1860 Munchen v 1. FC Saarbrucken

What an opening 34 minutes from Krattenmacher as he rounded off his hat-trick from the penalty spot before the game got turned on its head with 2 quick goals from Saarbrucken. We were lucky to hold onto the lead for the rest of the game

SC Freiburg II v TSV 1860 Munchen

A disastrous first half from us here as we got torn apart and couldn't cope with Freiburg here but some choice words and a few changes throughout the 2nd half made all the difference as we managed to salvage a point

A much better defensive performance this month as we manage to finally keep our first clean sheet in 4 games but our attacking performance we good as well with Lakenmacher scoring two excellent goals from headers.

We hold onto 4th spot just now but it would be great to be able to get up to 3rd and start opening up a gap

Well thanks to the World Cup and then the winter break we don't play again until half way through January where we will reach the halfway stage of the season​

SV Waldhof Mannheim v TSV 1860 Munchen

Quite a poor game for the first game in nearly 2 months even though we won we just never really got going.

We really need to be seeing these games out when we take the lead early on but we sadly let them back into it to have to walk away with a point

It happens yet again as we take the lead twice and then this time switch off right at the end to let Dynamo Dresden get a point which they really didn't deserve.

League

We just hold onto the playoff spot at the moment as we sit in 4th which I guess isn't bad when we've only won 9 out of our 20 games.

Transfers

So we had a pretty quiet transfer window where we let 32 year old Quirin Moll leave the club for £30,000 since his contract was expiring at the end of the season so it just made sense to cash in on him as he's the only player to leave the club.

Deadline day then crept around and we then signed 3 players on loan as clubs looked to loan out young players to get experience

Rares Ilie

He comes in on loan from Nice and can be used across 3 different positions so he will be a first team player as he brings a lot of class

Kian Fitz-Jim

Fitz Jim joins on loan from Ajax to provide some cover in central midfield and will challenge for a starting spot for the rest of the season

Ernest Poku

The player I'm most excited about as Poku joins on loan from AZ who also pay all of his wages will be the starting right winger for us for the rest of the season

These are all games we should be winning but we'll see what happens as we will see what happens with the new players joining the club.​

The new players come into the squad here and its quite slow going but Vrenzi comes on just after half time and scores a great effort from just outside the box.

Vrenzi with his 2nd goal in 2 games but we get the first real impact of the new players coming in as Ilie gets his first goal from the AMC position

The new players have really come into their stride now and really helping us get forward which is what we wanted. The red card made all the difference though with two late goals.

Hallescher FC v TSV 1860 Munchen

A fast improvement here as even though we weren't at our best we managed to sneak home a winner right at the end to get us the 3 points.

We've climbed up to 3rd spot now which is puts us in the automatic promotion spots so now we just need to hold onto it now.

We face the two teams above us in the league this month so they are going to be huge games for us so luckily they are both at home so we have the advantage​

A top of the table clash that not much was able to separate the two teams apart from a corner which was heavily focused on in training on the run up to a game

We fell behind very early thanks to some poor defending but thankfully Poku was able to get the equaliser before his replacement at half time was able to seal the win

Not a lot to say here as we just didn't have our shooting boots on and squandered a lot of chances

We bounce right back with a nice comfortable win with a much better attacking performance

What a win over Dortmund here as they have been ahead of us all season as they just couldn't cope with our attacking players

League

We are back in the automatic and 4 points off top spot but we do have a 7 point lead over 4th spot and 9 points over 5th meaning we should hope the minimum position of reaching the play offs

Youth Intake

Well the youth intake has now come and gone. I would say we didn't really have a great intake as I don't believe any of them will come through into the first team.

Rudolf Damm is the best of the bunch though

What a game for the fans here as its got a bit of everything. It wasn't great for my nerves though as we had to come from behind twice to win the game but it was a good final 5 minutes for us to secure victory

Our wingers have been so important to us with chipping in with goals all season and it helps with how we play so we're not just relying on our strikers.

Krattenmacher has been on a bit of a goal drought for us so its great to see his confidence go right back up with2 great finishes from just outside the area.

Krattenmacher gets on the scoresheet again and its just as well as we Lang was sent off for a poor challenge but with a few changes and a more defensive approach we managed to see out the final 40 minutes.

League

We have now guaranteed us a playoff spot at the minimum but we do have a 8 point lead over 3rd spot but more importantly we are now just a point off of top spot

This isn't the first time we've struck right at the death as its a becoming a bit of a tradition for us to avoid defeat but this time it gets us a big 3 points.

This was a poor result here we totally dominated the game but just couldn't find that extra piece that was needed.

Skenderovic has done it again here with a very late goal as he slipped past the defenders to salvage us a point.

Krattenmacher does enough for us to walk away with the 3 points here with what has been our only first half goal in 5 games which is something we need to sort out.

Another lucky result for us here as our inability to score in the first half came back to bite us here but thankfully Krattenmacher was on hand to score a brace to salvage us a point again

League

Results certainly went our way this month as Koln only managed to pick up a single point meaning it looks like we won the league with ease which is not true but it is great to see us going up as champions.

Budget

So we have a not too bad transfer budget for being promoted and a very nice boost in the wage budget as well but I want to say a chunk of that will be needed to renew contracts of the current players. We will need to sell some players as well though which should help boost the budgets as we will need to look at free transfers and loans to try and build a team that can stay up next season​

Season 2

Transfers Out

So over the course of preseason we have seen a total of 14 players leave the club on deals but we also released another load of players as well. Every player we let go though was planned as their time was up and we wanted to free up the budget where possible and even add funds to the transfer budget as well as we rake in £3.6million but its a shame only 40% of that goes towards the transfer budget but it does boost the bank balance nicely as well.

Transfers In

So to replace all the players that left it was well needed to bring in some players of a decent quality with the experience that is needed for stepping up a league so we signed 8 players with one of those being the returning loan of Ernest Poku for a further season. Now time to meet the next 7.

Christoph Kobald

Kobald joins on a free transfer from Karlsruher SC for the last 4 seasons so has great experience at this level and should slot into our defence nicely

Marko Bakic

Its not often I'd sign a midfielder at 29 but he looks great for us and should run the middle of the park for us. He has previous experience in the top flights of Portugal and Belgium. Another great free transfer

Daniel O'Shaughnessy

O'Shaughnessy comes in from Karlsruher on a free like Kobald and can play across the back line and is a regular starter for the Finnish international team.

Mathias Suarez

A new RB was high on our list for the season ahead Suarez fits the bill as he comes in on a free from Montpellier HSC and to top if off he is a Uruguayan international

Nicolo Armini

With wanting to add a bit more cover to the CB position then we looked hard to bring in a younger player who we can develop so we signed Armini from Lazio for £76,000 which will hopefully be a bargain as at 22 still has a lot of time to develop

Jean N'Guessan

N'Guessan comes in to add a bit more cover to the midfield as he joins on loan from Nice

Stiven Shpendi

We were in desperate need of a LW to come in and play and we signed Shpendi from Cesena for £400,000 who again is young and will get plenty of playing time this season

Preseason

A bit of a mixed preseason here as we mixed big games for cash and lower opposition to get everybody a run out and build fitness and cohesion.

Expectations

Well the board make it clear we just need to avoid relegation and they'll be happy with us this season

A few tough games to start us off but it will give us a good chance to see how we're going to cope this season.​

There wasn't a lot to separate the two teams here but we got really lucky with a penalty on the stroke of half time which gets us off to a winning start.

Well our winning streak only lasted the one game but we knew things were going to be tougher this season.

A much better game as we bounce back but it our young players who really make the difference here as they step up to see us into the 2nd round

We seemed to have carried our luck over from last season as its Kobylanski who strikes from just outside the 6 yard box to score in the 90th minute

Hamburg SV v TSV 1860 Munchen

For the 2nd game in a row its right at the end where Kobald rises above everybody else from a free kick to head home against the league favourites.

League

We sit in 6th spot just a point behind the leaders of the league but we still have a long way to go.

Transfers

Transfer deadline day came around and we went and managed to grab another couple of players.

Wuilker Farinez

Farinez joins from RC Lens for £69,000. Our goal keeper wasn't a position I was looking to strengthen but when the scouts recommended him for such a low price it was daft not to bring in an established international with his best years ahead of him

Paul Wanner

He joins from our big brother who are paying his wages but he should slot into the midfield for us and run the game and to think he's only 17
