COMING SOON...

This thread will be closed as soon as the referee gives the final whistle to the last match of Liga Sagres (maybe a bit later :P). The news ended, as there wasn't much attendance. I tried to improve it with my opinion but there was no reaction, so I decided to stick to the results, and that's the way it will continue until the end of the season. The only new posted will be the champions and the end of the season general overview. In the middle of the summer I will start a new thread with this format (only results and tables every 5 fixtures), but abranging the following leagues:
  • Liga Sagres
  • Liga BBVA
  • Ligue 1
  • Serie A
I want to thank every member that kept this thread alive and made me (by just *like* or comment) keep posting, as well as everyone else who, without giving lifesigns, was following. In the next season there's more to come, and I hope that you keep "following".

Cheers

PAULO SERGIO WILL BE SPORTING COACH FOR 2010/11
The current V. Guimaraes coach, Paulo Sergio, has been appointed as Sporting's coach for the next season. After the direction saying that Carlos Carvalhal, who is currentl in charge, would be dismissed at the end of the season, and with more names and names appearing as his successor, such as Le Guen, Tigana, Villas-Boas, Scolari and Domingos Paciencia, it was the V. Guimaraes coach the chosen to lead the team in the next season. Sergio already said that the objective was to be champion, and that he is already working in new signings and players so that the team can recover from an awful season this year to an unforgetable and glorious season in 2010/11.

I hope so, it would be "funny" to celebrate the title against Porto, but you are also being very really injured in the refereeing. Falcao deserved to play against us, I just hope he wins the golden boot in Liga Sagres

LIGA SAGRES

dragao005.png

Estadio do Dragao
FC Porto - Benfica
Sunday, 2nd May 2010
8h15 PM (GMT)

Benfica is one point away of being the portuguese champion, if Braga doesn't lose points until the end of the season. In that case, Benfica is automatically champion.

Braga is two points away of granting a UCL place (2nd knock-out round).

FC Porto must win against Benfica and their last game to take Braga's spot in the Champions, and hope that Braga stumbles in their fnal sprint.

Will Liga Sagres be decided today?

WITH ONE FIXTURE LEFT...
Benfica- with the title celebration delayed to the last round, the reds have to either draw or win at Estadio da Luz in their last game of the season, against Rio Ave. If they lose, the title will only stay at Lisbon if Braga loses away against Nacional.

Braga- with the title light still on, they have secured a place at Champions League.

Porto- After an amazing game against Benfica, the only certainty is that in the next season they will have a place at UEFA Europa League, after qualifying for UCL for 4 years in a row.

Sporting- the loss in Alvalade coul put the 4th place in risk, but V. Guimaraes drew against Rio Ave, what gives this place to the lions.

V. Guimaraes- failed the assault on the 4th place but have the 5th assured.

And at the bottom of the table...

Leixoes- after the loss against Olhanense, they have been mathematically relegated to Liga Vitalis.

Belenenses- relegated last week, the 3rd Lisbon team surprised everybody after winning 5-2 against U. Leiria, and putting them out of the fight for Europa League.

EVERYTHING WILL BE DECIDED NEXT SUNDAY, 4PM (GMT).

KEEP FOLLOWING...

I'm glad I'm getting some reactions :P
Just hope that Benfica wins, I'm going to see the game live and I don't want to quit Estadio da Luz without being champion. Anyway, may the best team win...

By the way, the other thread was deleted. I will remain loyal to Portugal, as there will be better quality this way. Keep following!

Benfica deserved it mate, I'm Only furious that Cebola didnt pass the ball to Falcao in the thirD goal of Porto, then Falcao would have a two goal margin over Tacuara, but he didnt. Anyway congratulations to benfica , very good football, and a wonderful Angel Di Magia, next year is ours mate :) EXCELENT THREAD :D

Over 60k people watching it live at the Stadium... What a feeling, God i wanted to be there. Unfortunately i couldnt, but that doesn't mean i didnt celebrate huh. The happiness, joy, the justice. Ah, over 6million of people around the world couldn't be wrong right? :P Luisao said he might end up his career at SLB, David Luiz has ensured he's not leaving, cant say that about Angel, though. Well, we'll still have Coentrao (Queiroz, just put him in our National team, there's not much portuguese talent like that anymore), and the € will get in. And @ NunoPeixinho, i'm just furious Cebola didn't die yet XD and next year is ours again, we won't change much the winning formula :P

CAMPEÕES, CAMPEÕES, NÓS SOMOS CAMPEEEEEEÕÕÕÕÕÕÕÕEEEEES!!!
