The Premier League Thread

24th April - Leeds (A)
1st May - Liverpool (H)

Both with the opportunity to kill off any United late bid for the title in 3 games time.

If only the fans were in for those. #ShithouseryLevels

A very unusual and worrying incident occurred to Di Maria against Nantes tonight:
he was subbed suddenly during game, after Leonardo coming down from stands to talk to Pochettino, allegedly he was subbed out for personal matters.
Left immediately the stadium, reports he was upset.

Reports now talking of “extremely violent” robbery at Di Maria family house in Paris

Le Parisien affirm that Angel di Maria's family, whilst present at the scene, did not get hurt during the incident. The contents of the upstairs safe were stolen & a a specialised robbery unit was dispatched to the address in Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Wasn't it a robbery at his home when at Man Utd that lead to his move to PSG, after he 'no longer felt safe in England' ....

It was like a week ago when Robin Olsen and his family was robbed by gang with machetes in their home.

How people feel about it here? .....

I think its mad and wrong personally.

Certain clubs who are in the situation historically is one thing. (Cardiff/Swansea/ Berwick etc. Derry I believe is another through NI troubles.).

But I don’t agree with cross-border leagues personally.

It’ll be interesting to see how this develops over the coming years (if it even gets off the ground), as the ramifications are large.

Not least when it comes to International status and individual Country’s voting rights.

No break clause in the 3.5yr contract Jose Mourinho signed in Nov 2019 to become Tottenham manager + he’s among best-paid coaches in world football. So if #THFC sack him before deal expires in summer 2023, he’ll be entitled to a major payout @TheAthleticUK

Sky are buying the TV rights to the Women's Super League starting next season. The BBC will continue to get one live match post week, Sky will have two. It will be worth around £8m per season to the women's game, which is a huge deal for the teams.

The money will go partly to development projects, including better training/pay for the referees, and partly to the WSL and Championships clubs. Amongst other things they're looking at helping clubs with upgrading their pitches and buying pitch covers to reduce the numbers of postponed matches.

Good news from my point of view, I prefer Sky's coverage. The non-Sky matches will continue to be available on FA player in the UK. I'm assuming the contract won't effect overseas access.
