Bit of a mad one doing season predictions with still month of the transfer window to go. But the scandalous World Cup has messed everything up and meant the season will be nothing other than mad.
So, in keeping with the madness, in the style of
@iamauser, let's attempt a complete league table prediction-
*With the caveat this could change slightly if there's any significant market movement over the next month.
1. Liverpool.
2. City.
Nothing to see here. Just the best two teams in the land by a Country mile continuing their own personnel battle for the League. With absolutely nothing to choose between them, it's coin toss as to what order they finish.
---------------------------
3. Tottenham.
The top 2 aside, the most interesting project to watch now under the third World class manager in the PL Conte. Won't be in any danger of a title challenge. But the gap should close to nearer 10 or less rather than the usual being nearer 20 or more. They should seriously threaten winning a cup this year too. One to keep an eye on.
------------------------------
4. Arsenal.
5. Chelsea.
6. West Ham.
7. Manchester United.
Pick your own poison here. 4-7, could finish in any order. Just for the purposes of this right now, Arsenal look to be the most stable and have made some really good moves in the market to strengthen. Chelsea are finding reality bites HARD with no Russian blood money bailing you out. £terlings great but F useless with no #9 to feed/ play off. And Utd are just a continued **** show. Albeit one with a very intriguing new manger. But when he hasn't got the tools to work with after a spectacularly bad window even by their standards, you feel his first season has been written off before it's even begun. Again, any much needed late moves in the market could change that order by September 1.
------------------------------
8. Wolves.
9. Newcastle.
10. Aston Villa.
11. Crystal Palace.
12. Brighton.
-------------------------------
13, Leicester.
14. Brentford.
15. Everton.
16. Leeds.
17. Nottingham Forest.
------------------------------
18. Southampton.
19. Fulham.
20. Bournemouth.
Anyone from 13th on down has the potential to be in the bottom 3 and you can see the majority of those 8 sides being in a proper relegation scrap all season long. The only certainty's I have are the bottom two. Then it'll go to the wire for 18th. I just have a feeling, like Burnley last year, Southampton's times up as I can neither see where the goals are coming from. And the fan atmosphere toward their own team when we went down there at the end of last season was utterly toxic. I honestly don't think they like one player not called Ward-Prowse!
And for all the media will love a top goalscorer straight shoot-out beaten Darwin and Haaland, Mo Salah is still the best around.
