If I’m right, it will be the biggest bottle job in PL history BTW given the lead they had at Christmas. And I also agree this year, when the leagues SO poor, and everything has aligned for them, is their one chance to win it. All things being equal, they are levels below ourselves and City over the last 4/5 seasons and I think average squad reality will hit them next year with CL to boot.

You can defo see City winning out. Arsenal, not so much.

Which works for me as its just another tainted title for the cheats that nobody is arsed about.

Honestly, anyone being chased down by that cyborg and peps team can't be called bottle job. However, City and their one or two fans will tell you how poor they've been this year and only recently hit form (perfect time tbf) and with the lead they had and the lack of competitions they have had to play, Arsenal will be kicking themselves they haven't seen it home. Still, a lot to play for but it's looking advantageous City so far. Arsenal fans can point towards that top 4 was the aim but let's be honest, aspirations will shift when you are so close to the promised land.
 
I disagree mate on them bottling it. When you are historically a record number clear at Christmas, to lose the league from there is an absolute disaster.

I don't the unexpected leap from 5th to 2nd negates that. Made worse, as you say, that they haven't had the Cup competitions/ Europe to bog them down. And have been relatively injury free all year. They've had the perfect storm of everything. Absolute disastrous season if they end up with nothing for me.

This hit a chord with a conversation I had with my arsenal mate after the west ham game: he tried to play out this season as “arsenal exceeded expectations” and “2nd place is an improvement” yet he was so vocal as to how spurs “bottled” the league to Leicester even though Spurs never led the league by 10 points in December. This, by all accounts, is streets worse.
 
Supposedly they've been preparing Kahn for 10 years and he managed to bungle it in 12 months.
 
Two years ago, to the day, Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho 6 days before a Cup Final.
Daniel Levy then said that the reason for the sacking was that he wanted to "return to playing football with the style for which Tottenham is known."

Love the bitterness in Ogden. Ever since United cut him of their ***, he's been making narky comments about United whenever he gets the chance.
 
Didn’t know about that.

I was just struck at that being a glaring example of how really poor this league has been in this ridiculous, mid-season World Cup year.
 
There's been a decline since few seasons ago, but nothing major. I assume things will level in next season or two.
 
With the finals in June, I’m presuming theres still not going to be a full summer break?

Whens next season start? Not even looked yet.
