I was taking a break from my WBA save when I decided to start a game with Bristol City. After seeing so many Bristol Rovers Stories I have decided to do a story on their arch rivals Bristol City :D

Bristol City

16932526

Bristol City Football Club is one of two football league clubs in Bristol, they play at Ashton Gate, located in the south-west of the City. Their arch rivals are the other team in Bristol, Bristol Rovers and the club also has a rivalry with Cardiff City. The Chairman of the club is Steve Lansdown and the current assistant manager is Keith Millen. The club was founded in 1897 and the club's nickname is "The Robins"

Aston Gate

Aston Gate was build in 1904 but still remains a top quality stadium. Aston Gate also has a capacity 0f 19,500 which I hope I can sell out every week,

The Squad

The current squad has great depth and with a few signings in key areas I feel we can have a good season. The key players in the squad include Louis Carey, Cole Skuse and Nicky Maynard

A Manager View

I am delighted to be given the chance to work at my former club. I think the current group of players are a bunch of talented lads and I hope that my drive and passion for the football club will rub of on them and i believe we can have a successful season. I was at the club for 5 years, scoring 70 goals :D so I know my way around and I have some old friends here which will help me to hit the ground running. I have a few transfer targets in mind which believe will improve the squad in key areas. I am extremely looking forward to my first real managers job and hope the robins faithful can get behind me and my lads this season.

Season Preview

With a media prediction of 11th I have told the board I believe I can achieve a mid table position and they responded by giving me a budget of 600,000. I am hoping that the squad given the write guidance I can achieve better that mid table but as I lack experience I wont get to ambitious. The Championship is a very tough league and I predict that the 3 teams that came down will all me in the mix along with Reading and Sheff Utd. I also believe ourselves and Swansea could be a dark horses for the title.

Hope everyone enjoys and feedback will be very helpful both with the layout and transfers! I also hope that my inspiration for the story (the Bristol Rovers fans can find the heart to follow ;)

Pre Season

Myself and my staff will be using the Tugs training program when designing sessions for the squad. We feel that these type of sessions will bring out the best in our squad.

Louis Carey has today been named as the new Bristol City for the up coming season with Cole Skuse being his vice.

Friendlies

We had a total of 7 friendlies and we remained unbeaten throughout pre-season winning 6 of them. We hope we can take this form into the league and really hit the ground running.

The Tactic

After a serious amount of work on the training ground and numerous discussions between the staff we have decided that the formation we will attempt to use this year will be a 4-3-3 (Which is shown below). The formation worked well in some friendly matches. The 3 strikers should ask questions of any defensive and the width will come from the full backs who will look to bomb forward as much as possible.

we played some good stuff during pre-season and I firmly believe we are ready and prepared for a long and hard season. I think the tactics being used will provide entertaining football and cause any team problems. I hope we can produce the pre-season performances in my first ever competitive match away a Preston.

even it is a person that are doing a story for Bristol Rovers Arch Enemy, that is Bristol City. I will also follow.

Yeah really nice promissing start ! Seems to become very good ! Good luck !

Transfer Update

With the new season about to kick off here are the transfers the club has made so far.

Transfers In

Ross Wallace > Preston > 900k

We are very pleased to have got Ross he will provide us with a good balance down the left and can play in defensive or midfield.

Ritchie De Laet > Man Utd > Loan

I am delighted to get Ritchie in for a year long long from Manchester. He can play anywhere along the back four which will come in useful during the season.

Marlon Harewood > Aston Villa > Loan

marlon_harewood.jpg

Marlon will provide us with goals this season I was tempted to sign him on a permanent basis put took the loan option instead. I believe he will become a big player for us this season.

Christian Vieri > Free

I believe that Vieri can score important goals for the club. Despite being 36 i think he can play a lot of games for us this year but he will be mainly used as an impact sub. I also believe Christian can teach the young strikers at the club a thing or two. Vieri has signed a one year contract with the club.

Sergi > Textil > Free

A young attacking midfielder with great promise. Although he is only 16 I hope we will be pushing for the first team within a year.

Bo Antal > Free

A young keeper who is one for the future and with the right guidance I believe he will b the clubs number one some day.

Nacer Barazite > Arsenal > Loan

nacer-barazite.jpg

A good attacking midfielder who joined from our parent club Arsenal. I hope we will become a first team regular and provide the midfield with some creativity.

Pat McCourt > Celtic > Loan

The Celtic man has join us for a season and will provide good cover along the midfield line.

Jay Rodriquez > Burnley > Loan

A promising young striker that will provide top class back up and may even get a starting place.

Transfers Out

Ivan Sproule > Preston > 400k

article-0-02F065C5000005DC-89_468x352.jpg

Ivan is a really good player but with the system we will be playing I didn't really require his services.

Lee Johnston > Blackpool > 350k

Lee was not really in my first team plans and so I allowed him to go in search for first team football.

Gavin Williams > Blackpool >250k

Again Gavin wasn't in my plans and so he also went to Blackpool in a 250k deal.

A Managers View

I am extremely happy with my activity in the transfer market and believe we have a squad capable of what the board expect (mid table). I believe that Harewood will be a big player this season and should score goals. Ross Wallace will also be important as he will add a much needed balance on the left hand side. I am also delighted to have recouped more than I have spent which means I might add a couple of players before the window shuts or wait until January.
