I had 11 shots on target and Sevilla had 1, yet we drew 1-1

None taken, but I think the tactical gods like Mr.Hough and JP woody are more suited and accomplished at making tactics for any teams.
I posted this tactic so that if someone doesn't want the hassle to make their own tactic for a good team they can use mine.

As You can see I've clearly said that I've posted this tactic for people who can't be arsed into making a tactic of their own for Madrid. Sorry not to include TBH's name in tactical geniuses.

As for playing Khedira, I've been playing Khedira the ss was just taken at a wrong time.

I just realised, this was the exact formation that I used with Real Madrid, but I retrained Ronaldo to be a striker and played two forwards instead of an AMC, scored 60 goals that season, although it looks like he's doing pretty well as it is. Also play Khedira over Diarra, he turns out to be a beast with game time but sitting on the bench for a year will just turn him in to an average squad player.

Are you talking about FM 10 or 11? if you are talking about 10 you can score 200 goals with the right tactic like the 4-2(cm)-3-1 tactic.
And if you are a tester can you tell me how much money United gets in the second season please.

To people telling me to use Alonso as playmaker, please see the last ss.

The problem with deep lying playmaker is that he just sits too deep. Think of him almost like an anchor man who is trusted to make longer passes, basically just there to collect the ball from centrebacks and reliably get it to somebody ahead of him. I know that's not really what you'd expect from a "playmaker", but that's been my experience with the match engine so far; and just look at the default settings, you will see what I'm talking about. If you set Alonso to defensive midfielder (support), you will see him playing further upfield while you are in possession. Alternately you could manually increase his mentality, creative freedom (DLP doesn't get much), runs from deep, all those things should help.

Just because he is the team's playmaker doesn't mean Ronaldo, Ozil, Higuian etc are going to go out of their way to pass all the way back to him. Right now your fullbacks are probably seeing more of the ball because they are actually getting involved with the offense, while Alonso is most likely hanging out with the anchor man nowhere near the play. A DLP for a superior team like Real Madrid that dominates possession and easily advances to the final third isn't going to be able to contribute much (not in FM engine anyway), so definitely try to adjust his settings to get him to play closer to your attackers.

Realized this yesterday, but in some of the other tactics where CM is the playmaker the problem is still the same with fullbacks making more passes. But on the SI forum this has been one of the complaints for the demo and i think the ME will be improved on the 1st patch.

I've also just started a save with Real, playing 4-2-3-1 Deep formation. Played 20 games in all competitions, won all of these including beating Barca, Inter and Spurs in both Champs League group games. I went 17 games without conceding a goal, before conceding against Inter.

I have saved this tactic, as I would like to test it with other teams, to see how well it actually works.

i have just played 4-5 friendly games and Ronaldo hasnt scored 1 goal yet
i just wanted to say that i changed xabi alonso from deep lying playmaker to defensive midfielder support for the reasons mentioned upon!!!!
