The Return of Sir Alex

View attachment 80804

Last year I did a simulation of how Alex Ferguson would do if he was to start his career now. starting at East Stirlingshire (as he did) and let him loose on FM.

Link Below:
http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/foot...ories/360819-return-alex-ferguson-v2-0-a.html

V2.0 had a mixed career, managing a number of clubs in Scotland before joining the mighty Luton....then eventually jumping on the Greece national job and eventually ending up at Inter, and being above average at best.

Now is time for V3.0, I have made a clone of the great man as he was when he left the game, gave him a pint from the Fountain of youth and he has emerged as a determined 31 year Old Scot with a slight addiction to chewing gum. This year he is starting at St Mirren, his second managerial job in real life

This is a simulation save, I will not effect the game in anyway and just see how Alex does! Updates to follow!

Comments always appreciated..even the negative ones :p

The first day in a new job can be stressful, but this is a place Alex knows well, He St Mirren from a low division two side to Division one champions in a few shorts years. This is a different St Mirren, they are currently in the Championship after being relegated in the 14/15 season.

The team are looking in good shape and they are predicted to finish 4th, and with a bit of magic from the red nosed assassin, they could easily get up to the promotion spots.

First year Review

As you can see he didn't quite live up to expectations here, Sir Alex started his career off slowly and it has happened here too. a 6th place finish was very underwhelming for the St Mirren fans who were expecting so much more on his return.

View attachment 80800
On the cup front they managed to do spectacularly better, The league challenge cup was where Alex has managed to pick up his first bit of silverware. An almost easy route to the final has brought the fans so much joy.

With the Scottish Cup they almost got another piece of silverware. An injury time winner gave Alex heartache when he was so close to a double in his first season. They managed to beat Celtic easily in the semi final to set up the match against Rangers but it wasn't meant to be...

The Return of Sir Alex

Sir Alex has settled in his new role now, 2 years in the job, pictures of family around the office and his favourite Cactus plant on the desk for good luck.

League position improved this year, the points stayed relatively the same but a rise of two places was well deserved. Predicted to finish 5th this year meant he performed better than expected.

View attachment 80793
The cups were not as kind this year, or maybe Fergie didn't take them serious, knocked out early in most competitions by relatively weak opposition, and made this year a year without a trophy to his name (but i'm sure there will be plenty more soon)

In terms of transfers he didn't have much to work with, a few players wanted to leave after he wasn't able to offer the financial stability they were after. He brought in 13 first team players....spending a total of £9.5k.

3rd year in charge at St Mirren and things have picked up a long way!

CHAMPIONS!!!!

A second trophy for Alex V3.0 and whata trophy it is, top of the table and promoting St Mirren up to the top flight. There was 1 point in it in the end but it was enough to get the job done!

In other competitions there was nothing to write home about.

They got to the Semi-Final of the League Challenge cup apart from that nothing really happened.....but the title was the main thing and it was a brilliant result when they were predicted to finish 4th

The Return of Sir Alex

After the heroic achievement of last year Sir Alex was ready and excited to be starting the new season in the premiership.

They were underdogs and expected to finish bottom of the table (as to be expected with the minimal transfer budget available)

After a few months in the premiership they were riding high (fourth place) when he got a call from a team also flying high in their league.

Alex quickly jumped ship to England to try and keep Brighton's promotion ambitions alive. they were sitting in 5th in the Championship in the middle of December.

He managed to move them up slowly towards promotion but it wasn't to be. Losing 2-1 in extra time to Ipswich is was heartbreak for Fergie....but he was determined to do better next year...

The Return of Sir Alex

After the failure in getting promoted last year, Fergie needed to do better this year. The board were patient, as they were predicted to finish 3rd, they wanted him to challenge but it wasn't a make or break season for them.

Fergie made some astute signings, picking up Patrick Roberts on a free transfer, and bringing Tommy Elphick back to the club made them a strong force this year.

He smashed it! another title win for Fergie who dominates the league and gets Brighton promoted up to the big time. They were in charge from very early on, occupying first place after a matter of a few months and never losing that top spot.

Fergie will now prepare for life in the Premiership, or will he??? As rumours are circulating that Celtic want to hire him to replace their recently departed manager.

The Return of Sir Alex

The 20/21 season was a great one for Fergie! promotion with Brighton and a few bigger teams eyeing him up. Celtic were swooping round but after talks broke down they opted for Paul Lambert (not quite as good as Fergie)

He opted to stay at Brighton, he got them promoted so why not give it a go and see what happens?

He got off to a winning start in the premier league, but that wasn't a sign of things to come..... loss after loss left Brighton bottom of the league in November, the board stuck with him, and the points started to come. It was Xmas eve and Fergie got an unlikely call.

Villarreal.who were predicted to finish near the champions league spots were struggling in 10th place. They fired their manager and called on the Scot to help them up the table..

View attachment 80583

He had an indifferent season in Spain, they stayed in the same position but the board loved him, they were playing good football and they even offered an extension to his contract, but.....

AC Milan came calling, they had just won the last 2 league titles when their manager resigned and took up the Spanish national side...Fergie is now in charge of, probably, the best side in Italy....can he get them to a third consecutive title???

Haha class, I'm a Milan fan and I'd have been very happy to have Ferguson back in the day!

Lets see what he can do

One interesting thing I have just noticed....Danny Welbeck has been reunited with Fergie at AC Milan!!

From the stats he has really been helpful in them winning the title last year before Fergie joined the club!

The Return of Sir Alex - 2022/23

Fergie had just taken the reins at AC Milan and his first official match in charge was for the Italian Super Cup, which he managed to win 4-0 (quite the impressive start)

He had taken over AC Milan at a great time, finances were good, he inherited a team who had won the title for 2 consecutive years so all was looking good...and the might Danny Welbeck leading the line up front.

View attachment 80511

He used this team to great effect by winning the Title again for the team, and the first major title for Fergie (first of many I hope!) 9 points ahead of the next team, and made it look easy at the end.

The Return of Sir Alex 2023/24

After his first title winning season Fergie was keen to get another title, he had little to spend (for some reason) and made a few key signatures in defence, the main being a newgen from Juventus who is a strong and quick centre back who slotted straight into the squad.

View attachment 80512
Another title for Fergie, this Serie A is looking easy! only 6 points ahead of Napoli this year but only 25 goals conceded means they have tightened up their defence with the signings he made.

The Treble!!!

OK not the best kind of treble but still a treble, the Super cup was nice and simple way to start the season again, winning the Italian Cup is a brilliant achievement for the club.

Scottish Premiershio: Rangers (finally someone takes over Celtic!)
English Premier Division: Chelsea
Serie A: AC Milan
La Liga: Real Madrid
Ligue 1: AS Monaco
Bundasliga: Bayern Munchen
Champions League: Real Madrid (4 times in a row, with 6 wins out of 7)...wow!
Europa League: Tottenham

I hope he creates a legend status at Milan.

The Return of Sir Alex 2024 - 2027

After his treble winning season Fergie was flying high, he had a great team, a board who loved him, with fans who adored him.....

View attachment 80383

It was going too good at AC Milan, maybe he found it too easy?

Fergie has decided to leave Italy and travel to the south of France to try his hand in Ligue 1. AS Monaco have a very wealthy board and this could be a chance to really dominate a league for years to come.

Kyllian Mbappe is his star player as he arrives, Monaco have been title contenders for a number of years. They got the title the year before Fergie arrived with Cocu at the helm, but he jumped ship to Spurs paving the way for Fergie.

View attachment 80382

His first season in France wasn't the easiest of times. They finished Second in the league, and didn't make any notable challenge in the cups, the season went so bad that at one point it looks like the Board had strong words with him about his position. To make things worse many players voiced their discontent at their new manager with Mbappe demanding to move, which happened for just £31m in the summer.

View attachment 80381

The second season was just what he needed to get himself a nice new contract from the bosses. a massive 103 points in the league, he also won the Coupe de la Ligue, a nice little double to show his skills.

View attachment 80380

Another year, another league vicory, and another 103 points in the league. PSG improved on last season but were unable to catch Monaco. They didn't have any luck in the cups this year. Runners up in the French Cup was the closest they came.

They haven't had any success in Europe either, the best they have managed to do is get to the Quarter finals.

One interesting thing about his time at Monaco is that he hasn't spent much money. Over the 3 years he has spent a total of 18.5m, which is just over 6m a year! This makes his league victories all the more impressive with PSG spending 410m in that same period.

Around Europe

The English Premier League has been dominated by Chelsea over the last 3 years. No one has come close to overthrowing them in the last 5 years now.

In the Bundesliga Dortmund managed to end a run of 12 years of Bayern Dominance in the 2024/25 season, however that was their only triumph with Bayern winning the following two years.

Real Madrid and Barcelona were the title winners in Spain, two for Madrid and one for the Catalan giants. Barcelona ended Madrids run of 9 years champions in a row.

AC Milan continued to win titles without challenge, maybe Fergie should have stayed there??

In Scotland...Celtic dominate as usual!
