Clarke Gone
In an amazing series of events Steve Clarke has been sacked as West Bromwich Albion manager after just 4 weeks in charge of the baggies. Clarke was announced as West Broms manager on the 8th of June and now just after a month in charge he has been sacked by the owner Jeremy Peace. No reason as yet has been released as to why Clarke was dismissed but rumors are circulating that Clarke had a disagreement with Peace over the clubs transfer policy. More on that as we get it.
Press Statement
A spokesman from West Brom is about to release a statement to the press. We will now cross live to the Hawthorns.
The rumors going around about Clarkes dismissal are unfortunately true. Steve is a very talented coach and manager but he could not agree to go along with the new financial policy we are about to implement as he felt it would disrupt his ability to manage this team efficiently and so both parties have agreed to a mutual termination of his contract. Now I'm sure many of you will be wondering who will be his replacement especially since the league starts in just two months time. Well I am proud to announce that Oliver O'Brien will be taking over as manager of this great football club.
O'Brien Takes Charge
Oliver O'Brien is a former Irish footballer who played for Limerick F.C before signing for West Bromwich Albion. He also played 27 times for his country scoring 12 times. However recurring knee injuries hampered his short career and having played his last game shortly before his 25th birthday a final knee injury forced him to retire. He earned his coaching badges at the age of 23 as he realized during one of his lengthy periods out that he may have to retire sooner rather than later. He was loved by the albion fans for the time and attention he gave them whenever he could. His strong relationship with owner Jeremy Peace may have been a main factor in his appointment.
I believe we can now cross live to the Hawthorns for an exclusive interview with O'Brien.
Jim: Hello Oliver. How are you?
Oliver: Hello Jim I'm fine and you guys?
Jim: We are all great. From all at Sky Sports we would like to congratulate you on your appointment as West Brom manager. How does it feel?
Oliver: Oh. Thank you. Honestly Jim it really hasn't sunk in yet. I suppose once I get to a training session and start telling former teammates what to do you can get back to me and Ill be able to give you a better idea. Seriously though its great, as a lifelong albion fan I have a great feeling of pride to be part of the club again.
Jim: Can you tell us anything about this financial plan?
Oliver: I'm sorry Jim not yet but it should become apparent in the next few weeks.
Natalie: I'm sorry to cut in here but what about those players signed by Clarke already will they feature in your plans?
Oliver: I was at a training session a few days ago and I saw some of the new guys in action. They will definitely be given a chance. Its up to them whether or not they can show me they have something that will improve this team.
Natalie: Do you plan on making any further signings?
Oliver: We will have to wait and see. We are always looking at players but nothing can be done unless we feel it is the 100% the right move for the club. I'm sorry I have to go now. It's been a very hectic day here and I'd like to get home as I have an early start tomorrow.
Jim: Thank you Oliver. In other news Manchester City have approached Tottenham about a move for Croatian midfielder Luka Modric.
Ok so Im gonna start posting about pre season soon as well as my signings and sales. Im using LFC marshalls latest update the one a few days before the window closed so not all transfers are up to date. I still havnt mastered how to use the sky news pics etc so my posts may look very boring but hopefully it will make a good read.
As for this financial Policy.
No one can earn over £40k p/w on the squad.
I have to make at least a £25m profit from transfers.
I have to stay £200k under my wage budget p/w
