Clarke Gone

In an amazing series of events Steve Clarke has been sacked as West Bromwich Albion manager after just 4 weeks in charge of the baggies. Clarke was announced as West Broms manager on the 8th of June and now just after a month in charge he has been sacked by the owner Jeremy Peace. No reason as yet has been released as to why Clarke was dismissed but rumors are circulating that Clarke had a disagreement with Peace over the clubs transfer policy. More on that as we get it.

Press Statement

A spokesman from West Brom is about to release a statement to the press. We will now cross live to the Hawthorns.
The rumors going around about Clarkes dismissal are unfortunately true. Steve is a very talented coach and manager but he could not agree to go along with the new financial policy we are about to implement as he felt it would disrupt his ability to manage this team efficiently and so both parties have agreed to a mutual termination of his contract. Now I'm sure many of you will be wondering who will be his replacement especially since the league starts in just two months time. Well I am proud to announce that Oliver O'Brien will be taking over as manager of this great football club.

O'Brien Takes Charge

Oliver O'Brien is a former Irish footballer who played for Limerick F.C before signing for West Bromwich Albion. He also played 27 times for his country scoring 12 times. However recurring knee injuries hampered his short career and having played his last game shortly before his 25th birthday a final knee injury forced him to retire. He earned his coaching badges at the age of 23 as he realized during one of his lengthy periods out that he may have to retire sooner rather than later. He was loved by the albion fans for the time and attention he gave them whenever he could. His strong relationship with owner Jeremy Peace may have been a main factor in his appointment.
I believe we can now cross live to the Hawthorns for an exclusive interview with O'Brien.

Jim: Hello Oliver. How are you?
Oliver: Hello Jim I'm fine and you guys?
Jim: We are all great. From all at Sky Sports we would like to congratulate you on your appointment as West Brom manager. How does it feel?
Oliver: Oh. Thank you. Honestly Jim it really hasn't sunk in yet. I suppose once I get to a training session and start telling former teammates what to do you can get back to me and Ill be able to give you a better idea. Seriously though its great, as a lifelong albion fan I have a great feeling of pride to be part of the club again.
Jim: Can you tell us anything about this financial plan?
Oliver: I'm sorry Jim not yet but it should become apparent in the next few weeks.
Natalie: I'm sorry to cut in here but what about those players signed by Clarke already will they feature in your plans?
Oliver: I was at a training session a few days ago and I saw some of the new guys in action. They will definitely be given a chance. Its up to them whether or not they can show me they have something that will improve this team.
Natalie: Do you plan on making any further signings?
Oliver: We will have to wait and see. We are always looking at players but nothing can be done unless we feel it is the 100% the right move for the club. I'm sorry I have to go now. It's been a very hectic day here and I'd like to get home as I have an early start tomorrow.
Jim: Thank you Oliver. In other news Manchester City have approached Tottenham about a move for Croatian midfielder Luka Modric.

Ok so Im gonna start posting about pre season soon as well as my signings and sales. Im using LFC marshalls latest update the one a few days before the window closed so not all transfers are up to date. I still havnt mastered how to use the sky news pics etc so my posts may look very boring but hopefully it will make a good read.
As for this financial Policy.
No one can earn over £40k p/w on the squad.
I have to make at least a £25m profit from transfers.
I have to stay £200k under my wage budget p/w

I Know you will, but include pictures to make it more attractive :)

Hectic Times at The Hawthorns
O'Brien has overseen 23 deals in just over a month at the club. This new financial policy is clearly evident here. The squad has been completely overhauled and some major albion favorites have left the club. Most of there replacements are quite young and haven't been tested at this high a level. A mixed pre season means it is inconclusive as to whether these players will be able to cope with the Premier League. It is important to note that O'Brien also cleared out the club staff and hired almost a completely new backroom and that his assistant Tony Coton was in charge of all pre season games as O'Brien was busy working through new signings with Club owner Jeremy Peace. All relevant information will be shown below.

Thanks. Will try to put together my first league month update now and will do the next month tomorrow at some stage. I may not have an update for a few days after that. Starting college on Tuesday and have no idea of my schedule yet but once I find out I'll be better able to put together updates.

Baggies looking Good

O'Briens side make a good start to there premier league campaign. 2 victories and a loss put them in 7th place.
The Baggies started there season with a trip to the DW where they came away with a 5-2 win over the hosts Wigan.
A stellar performance from Shane Long saw him take the man of the match award and all 5 goals.

Top 3 performers Shane Long 10.0 Jonas Olsson 8.1 and Marcus Rosenberg 7.7

Next up was a home game against Q.P.R. Albion played well and came away with a 2-0 win. The first was a powerful drive by Jenssen and the second was a header from a corner by Long.

MOM: Ruben Yttergard Jenssen
Assits came from Rosenberg and Bressan.

Top 3 performers Jenssen 7.8 Shane Long 7.6 Tie Bressan & Liam Ridgewell 7.4
Jara suffered a twisted knee keeping him out for around 2 weeks

Its gonna take too long to do these for every game so Ill just give a brief summary of some games mainly cups etc.
The Baggies then hosted Doncaster in the second round of the Capital One Cup. Klasnic Sanogo and Guidetti made debuts up front while El Ghanassy played his first game in mdifield along side Gera. Reid played his first game since returning from an injury suffered in pre season. McAuley started in defence alongside
Dawson while Jones played at left back. Simao and Foster returned for the baggies. Albion smashed Doncaster 6-0 with Klasnic netting a Hatrick on his debut as well as Guidetti getting a brace and Sanogo hitting one in as well. Ridgewell Olsson and Bressan came on as subs for Reid Jones and El Ghanassy.

Finally the Baggies travelled to Saint Mary's in the hopes of winning 3 from 3. However an early flurry of goals was followed by a late penelty which Lambert put away ment the Baggies headed home with no points.

I'm sorry not to finish this one like I did the others buts it's late. However. An early update tommorrow which includes Transfer Deadline day. Also if the attachments come up at the bottom I have no idea how to get rid of them sorry. Also just realized The last screen is an address. It leads to the screen. Not sure why it wont just show it.

More Activity At The Hawthorns

There has been more transfer activity for the baggies as O'Brien announces the signings of strikers Wes Fletcher and Lauri Dalla Valle both listed by there clubs for free. Fletcher(21) joins from Burnley has not had a prolific career scoring just 2 in 14 appearances. He will according to O'Brien " Will play in the reserves. He has been signed to add depth in case of an injury crisis"

Lauri(19) as described by O'Brien "is a bright young player with plenty of potential and will also play in the reserves but looks as if he could challenge for the first team based on his training performances"

A few departures for the Baggies. A month that sees 4 more exits for the Albion. Young Goalkeeper Luke Daniels leaves the club to join Charlton for 190k while Kaydelen Brown moves to Hereford on a free transfer and James Hurst moves to Chesterfield on loan. The final departure was Romelu Lukaku. The 18 year old Belgian only made 1 appearance for the Baggies before having his loan terminated. A statemen from O'Brien reads "Lukaku is a fine young player and I'm sure he will go on to reach new heights in his footballing career but not here at West Brom. Clarke agreed to pay 100% of his wages which is a wopping 40k a week. This is something I couldn't have as it works out at roughly 2m a year for one player and he isn't even here on a permanent basis.

Jim White Day

It's transfer deadline day but it has been fairly quite at the Hawthorns. However we understand the Baggies are in talks with Wolves over a potential deal for Steven Fletcher.

Another story coming from our man at the Hawthorns says that West Brom have agreed a 20m fee with Internacional for Brazilian Internation Leandro Damiao as well as a 13m fee for Steven Fletcher. There is also a rumour going around that O'Brien has agreed a deal with a South American club and there player is at the Hawthorns to agree personal terms and complete a medical.

Breaking News

O'Brien fails in his attempt to lure Fletcher and Damiao to the club as they have no intention of signing for the Baggies. This will be a bitter blow for O'Brien.

Transfer Window Closed

3 2 1 and the window is closed and it looks as if O'Brien has failed in his attempts to sign a proper replacement for Romelu Lu... wait Im just recieveing news that the Baggies have agreed a 1m deal for Santos Laguna's Colombian striker Darwin Quintero and that Qintero signed on the dotted line at 10:59 whcih means he is now an Albion player and has been registered for the Premier League.

post a SS of your first team? not too bad singings there.. Quintero should bang in a few ;) never had him before but seems a popular choice!

Lukaku and Quintero should do nicely together.. you paid 1m for the deal?

Yeah but I got rid of lukaku. Currently playing at home to Sunderland. Klasnic Quintero and Rosenberg starting together. Will post an SS in a minute. Using my iPad for this post

October 1st Baggies are 5th

A great run of form for O'Brien's side sees them 5th at the start of October with a game in hand over the teams above them6 and the team below them.

After the International break the Hawthorns played host to a game between West Brom and Sunderland. New boy Quintero gets his first start up front along side Klasnic and Rosenberg. West Brom had 5 changes from the team that narrowly missed out against Southampton with Long, Albin, Yacob, Jones and Khune making way for Quintero, Klasnic, Simao, Reid and Foster. All goals were scored in the first half with vetern Striker Del Piero grabbing the opener inside 2 minutes after Bressan made a mistake. However West Broms Colombian aqquisition netted twice on his debut to take a 2-1 lead into the second half. A solid defensive performance ment Sunderland couldn't find the net again.

Albion drew a tough Capital One Cup 3rd round fixture away to Newcastle. Despite having home field advantege, more possesion and more shots Newcastle couldn't get the victory. Young Belgian midfielder Yassien El Ghanassy scored the opener with a well place finish. Newcastle waited until the second half to strike with a ball wipped in from a corner Steven Taylor powered home a header from close range. Some trickery from El Ghanassy ment he came in from the wing and was brought down from behind by Simpson in the box. Juan Albin stepped up to take the penelty and dispatached it calmly. Another 2-1 win for the Albion and El Ghanassy with a great performance getting a goal and an assist. With that performance it is obvious he is looking for a permanent move to the Baggies.

Another home game for West Brom saw them entertain 9th place Spurs. Not many changes for West Brom with Klasnic and Rosenberg dropped to the bench so Guidetti and Long could start. Another shocking start by West Brom saw Adebayor net within 10 minutes. Albion struck back 4 minutes later with Shane Long turning in a cross from loanee striker Guidetti. A foul in the box by Sandro on Quintero gave Albion there second penelty in 2 games. Guidetti stepped up and put it away. Spurs struck back on the stroke of half time with a through ball played to Adebayor and again he finished past Foster. Albion were back in front after 54 minutes with Bressan curling one into the near corner. A well weighted ball by Bressan saw Shane Long and Gomes chasing for the same ball. Long got there first and took it round Gomes before thundering the ball into the back of the net. FT 4-2 win for West Brom.

Albion Continue Positive Start

O'Brien will have to be happy with his teams contribution in October. Albion played 5 games in total including 4 Premier League games and a Capitol One cuup game.

Albion started October with a game against Swansea at the Hawthorns. Having beaten Spurs 4-2 they would look to build on that. Swansea had a slight edge in possession but that didn't stop West Brom from winning 4-1. A hatrick from Long and a Vorm own goal made sure the Baggies got the points. The perfect hatrick from Long hitting one with his right foot then his head and then his left foot. The Irishman was in superb form and was earger to get goals

Next was a visit from reigning Champions and table toppers Manchester City. As expected city dominated and with club captain Jonas Olsson rcovering from an injury suffered in the Swansea game young centre back Craig Dawson started alongside Ridgewell it looked as if it would be a walkover but the Baggies fought hard to earn a 2-2 draw with Quintero and Long canceling out two terrific strikers from Yaya Toure which earned him goal of the month 1st and 2nd place.

A trip to Craven Cottage was next for the Baggies. An early flurry of goals was the only thing of note in a fairly balanced game. Rodallega struck in the 3rd minute while a quick brace from Quintero was enough to secure the points.

The Capital One cup was next for the Baggies which was an away game against Q.P.R. This 4th round tie ended in a 4-2 win for the Baggies with Guidetti netting a hatrick and Gera hitting a sweet strike to book them a place in the Capital One Cup Quarter Final against Cardiff.

West Brom travelled to Reading to play an away game. Reading dominated every aspect of the game and came away with a 2-0 over the Baggies. Another loss for O'Brien's side against a promoted side away from home.

A good month for West Brom apart from the loss at Reading. This series of results puts them in 5th place and the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup. It is also noteworthy that West Brom is now the 8th most valuable club in England with an estimated value of 83m

Think you are doing well mate, you have more views than mine lol! Im on the verge of getting the boot at Arsenal, what a story that will be done and dusted before half way through the season! :O

Think next time I will start at s smaller club and watch the rise a new manager rather than go straight into top flight!

Ok. The save is back working. Ive played up to Feb but I wont be able to get updates on here until either tomorrow(depending on time) or the weekend. Im still trying to figure out my college schedule since I only started today but Im fairly sure I only have an hour tomorrow. It would have to be 9-10 wouldnt it.
