The Southampton Years

1st June 2012

After the jubilation of securing their second promotion within as many years Southampton FC and it's fans may have been forgiven for celebrating throughout the summer more so than any other club and it's fans. Two years ago the club was plying it's trade in League 1 before fortunes changed and the club was bought. Now back in the Premier League after last season's promotion from the Championship, the club who have been nurtured and financially backed and under the guidance of Nigel Adkins look to be as good as they have ever been.

The Partying stops now though for Nigel Adkins and Nicola Cortese as they now have to prepare for life in the illustrious Premier League. The club and it's fans will feel like they are back home as it is the England's top league where the club have enjoyed it's best days. Adkins who has surpassed all expectations of him has guided his team to two sensational promotions and will be backed by the Chairman Cortese.

If the club can hold onto Star players Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert then Southampton will already have players who can shine in the Premier League this season. Of Course the club will be active in the Transfer Market and it's expected that the squad will be strengthened. There is already transfer gossip rife at the moment and a name that has been continually linked to the club is that of Nathanial Clyne from Crystal Palace.
