Someone wanted a story... :)

On my FM09 save I was the manager of Swindon, planning to complete ten years then **** off to Huddersfield at the first opportunity. At the end of my 10th season the board come and tell me about this fantastic new stadium they were building and that they were naming it after their greatest ever manager....

So.. I stayed, couldn't really refuse could I?

Instead, the next time Huddersfield sacked their manager I created a new manager and had him take over Huddersfield who were a bit of a yo-yo Championship/League 1 team. It was only 6 months after the announcement of the new stadium for my other manager too...

Anyway, within 5 years I took Huddersfield from a League One relegation battle to the knock-out stages of the Champions League where we were to meet the weakest team still in the competition, man they were bad... I have no idea how they got through the groups, but I digress... So we played them at home, battered them for 90 minutes and scraped a 1-1 draw - I was like wtf?

second leg comes, at their spot, and we mauled them, totally... they didn't have a single shot on goal! But we couldn't score... finished 0-0 :(

That really hurt, so I quit Huddersfield at the end of the season (finished 5th) and went on a 6 month sabbatical - don't forget my Swindon manager was still playing every week and winning every week, including beating the ******* I lost to in the QF of the Champs league!!

6 months later I applied for the job at struggling championship team, Bolton and was greeted with "we're delighted to appoint one of the world's best managers" (I'd won the Uefa cup with Huddersfield).

So, I managed to get Bolton promoted back to the premiership at the first time of asking and managed to stay in the premiership in season two. Then comes my 3rd season (but it was really only 2 years into the job) - I promised top half finish, not being too greedy/over ambitious.

After about a dozen games we were 15th/16th but we'd only lost ONE game (most of the others had been draws against top teams!!) and that tw@t Phil Gartside decided to sack me!!

Just like that, no warning, no 'under pressure', nothing! Just drew yet another game against a bigger club and I was relieved of my duties :'(

****! Forgot to mention I'd also managed Ireland for 8 months (WC play-off to WC winners) before the Bolton job... was a long time ago.. ;)

Well I started my game in the 10/11 season as Darlington. Things didn't go to plan and we ended up finishing about 9th, which is quite bad as we were expected to challenge for promotion. Towards the end of the season I was getting threats along the lines of 'a bad result in todays match could seal joe blogg's future at the club' etc so I got fed up and resigned. A couple of months later I got offered the job at York City which is who im managing now.

Quite pleased with that as my experience was set to sunday league footballer, as I like to try and and perform well with blue square teams and try to get into league football by either promotion or a job offers.

Haven't been sacked, but that's because I always achieve the minimum goal or over achieve. Man, I'm good. [/confidence]

I get sacked quite regularly tbh, i mean more often than not im under pressure. I think it may have something to do with the fact whenever i manage in the prem i seem to get relegated with that team. I don't know why, maybe its my tactics, the way i handle players or because im fairly delusional with my managerial abilities.

Anyway, so after some deep and thought provoking nights on some whiskey and pringles, i decided to try out lower league as i feel this may be more to my standards. I find a job in league 1 and all seems to be well at first and i managed to win the JPT but after a stuttery start to a season i am then on the unemployed shelf again.

All is well though as a few month after being sacked from said league 1 club, Newcastle United approach me on a 5 year contract. Needless to say i swiftly accepted.

got sacked on fm10 with leeds cos i'd just been promoted and set expectations as win the league in the champ. stupidly. was about 4 months into the season and 17th. ended up going to hull after that

I've recently got sacked from Portsmouth on FM10. I got them promoted (after I joined them from Worcester) and then next season they got relegated, so they sacked me. Took a job with South Africa and it's been great!

well i junxed myself ive just been sacked by bolton

after only having 500k to spend in the first season i was playing the season with the squad i was given.

my only signings were:
enzo maresca
guillermo franco

i was expected to finish about 14th place i managed to get the team to 9th place and lost in the semi final of the FA cup to liverpool. At first the board said they were happy with the season the club had but then just days later a shock :O i was sacked for poor performances

I lol'd

I just got sacked on the new iPhone game, got Preston relegated with a record of Played- 46 Won- 11 Drawn- 10 Lost- 25

Haven't been sacked on FM11 yet, but on earlier games I've been asked to resign or be sacked at Ascoli, got the sack at Preston for declaring interest in other jobs and was sacked as Brazil manager for losing in the world cup final.

A thread about how you got sacked and its full of "i've never been sacked" posts.

I took havant & waterlooville afrer starting the game unemployed...after 4 seasons i finally get them up to the BSP and we finish 6th as best over achiever lol....the following season i begin with 1 win in 13 games and they let me go...

Curently with tamworth in 2016 start of season.

I am Hull manager, and i spend three seasons narrowly missing Play-off's. In the next seasons things got worse and worse. Severely under pressure in the 6th season, i ended up relegated to League I missed promotion first time up. Fired deservedly after second season, i never got another job...

I was managing FC Viikingit of the Finnish first division, we were the favourites to win promotion to the premier league but we ended up in 9th place out of 12 teams, almost relegated. Though we did win the cup and got European football next season, but I guess it wasn't enough. They gave me the option to resign or to be sacked, so I terminated every contract I could, released players on free, bought few very bad players with £20m to be paid in 48 months and did my everything to destroy the team. And guess what happened after that? Newcastle wanted me to promote them to the Premier League after their previous manager got them to the relegation zone in the Championship. I did win the Championship and was about mid table in christmas in the Prem but then FM11 came.

Also in another save I did the same to Spartak Moscow, performed poorly in the league there too, got ****** off, terminated contracts and released players on free, bought **** players for tens of millions and got sacked.
