The Swans Fly High Part II

Brilliant on the Champions League win mate!!!!unlucky with the league but hopefully you can do it next season!
Thanks mate, I still can't quite believe we won it. The league is my number one priority next season! Oh and there'll be a another update out later today.

With Eduardo retiring, I need a new back up keeper and I found a solid regen keeper, Alan Devaney, he might not look like much now but he comes in for just 250k and like David Haughton. He's got very high professionalism, so his attributes will sky rocket in the next few seasons, I mean just look at how much Haughton has progressed in two years in Swansea.

With Jon Flanagan leaving for Arsenal, I was looking for a right back but Santon is more than capable of shifting to the other flank and we know Neil Taylor will perform for us he's done it countless times before. He's really struggled in the last 18 months over at Man City so he's come back for a bargain price of £2.8M and he's only on 20k a week.

Now we're on to the big signings this summer, first up we bought in James Ward-Prowse. I'm sure you've all heard about this lad, he doesn't need any introduction, I've not really used him before in FM though, I can't wait. With Sigurosson leaving, James will rotate with Dele Alli, they're both English and they both play in the same position, it's going to be interesting to see who comes out on top.

At just £18M, Bernard comes in for a steal of his true value, the lad is just pure quality and I'm so excited to see what he can do for Swansea. He is on big money though, 115k per week.

I've saved the best until last, when I saw this lad was transfer listed I had to go for him, he might be on 140k every week and he might of smashed or record transfer but I'm confident he'll be worth it. Another Brazilian flyer, Lucas Moura, a player I just can't wait to see play, If we didn't do so well in the Champions League these last two signings wouldn't of been possible, it's great that we're now in a position to attract those big names.

I won't talk to much about the departures in Swansea this summer, McAleny simply wasn't good enough for the big games, I've already talked about Flanagan and Sigurosson was just very hot and cold, that and he's in his late twenties now. One player that left, that might surprise some of you is Kristoffer Ajer.

If you judged him on those attributes, he looks quite the player but it just didn't happen for him at Swansea. It's a shame to see him go because he's got the potential to be a one of the best mid fielders around but unfortunately when he got his chances, he just didn't perform.

Next time we'll kick off the new season with a chance to win some silverware in our first game, the European Super Cup against Tottenham and there's also the league to think about we've got some very winnable games to start us off, hopefully we can set down an early marker. If you guys want to see any screenshots of youngsters, let me know and I'll post them up.

Thanks man, I'm really happy with our transfer business this summer. We've got to haven't we? I mean we've definitely improved the team from last season, 92 points wasn't enough though. If we improve on that total, we should have the title in the bag.

Big shock as second division side Leicester beat the champions Man United, to lift the traditional season curtain raiser, the Community Shield.

If we can win this trophy, it'll be a great kick starter to the season ahead, unfortunately though were missing the likes of Thomas, Alli and Haughton on international duty, while Coquelin is suspended. It was an extremely close game in the end, the two sides couldn't be separated at one each and the game went all the way to penalties.

Bartley got himself sent off, which is annoying because he'll miss our first group stage match now. Unfortunately we lost the shoot out, Gomis had his spot kick saved and Dembele took advantage. Of course it would've been nice to start the season with a trophy but I'm not to disappointed, we'll have plenty of chances to lift trophies this season.

Belhenda was forced off with an injury in that game and unfortunately he'll miss the next 5-6 weeks with fractured ribs.

The draw for the group stages of the Champions League was here and if you go by the European rankings, we should of been seeded 3rd but I think because we're defending champions, we're seeded 1st, which is fantastic news. On to the draw then and I'm very confident we'll qualify, the big question is can we top the group ahead of Atletico?

A mixed bag of results to start the season, we could of started the season with a trophy but narrowly missed out on penalties, there was two very convincing wins at home to QPR and West Brom but if we're going to win the league, we've got to pick up wins away to the likes of Stoke. Next times there's a tough away trip to Newcastle in the league and we'll kick off in the Champions League against Slovan Bratislava.
