The Swansea Way 🦢🦢🦢

A solid start to the 2nd season, hopefully can keep it up for the rest of the season and get promoted
Very solid, happy with it so far, January fast approaching I think a few final pieces to fit in & we should be right up there!

Smashing it in season 2. Hopefully the momentum continues into the mid way point of the season!
Honestly surprised we’re sitting in the top 2 spots, a win against Hull would of taken us top but still plenty of football to come!

November 2026:

November proved to be a hugely positive month, as the team went unbeaten across six matches, showcasing attacking flair and strong home form while providing plenty of entertainment along the way.

The month began with a narrow but professional 1–0 home victory over Preston, setting the tone early. That was followed by a thrilling 3–2 win against Wolves, where attacking quality shone through against strong opposition. Confidence was clearly high days later, as the side swept aside Oxford City 7–0 in a friendly, a dominant display that boosted morale across the squad.

League action continued with two high-scoring away draws. A 3–3 stalemate at Charlton saw the team show resilience and attacking intent, while a similar 3–3 draw away to Sheffield Wednesday later in the month underlined both the team’s firepower and a slight vulnerability on the road.

Sandwiched between those trips was another vital home success, a 2–1 win over Coventry, ensuring a perfect record at home throughout November and keeping momentum firmly on track.

By the end of the month, the numbers told a compelling story: four wins, two draws, 19 goals scored, and an unbeaten run intact. While defensive solidity away from home remains an area to tighten up, the attacking output and home consistency point to a side full of confidence and ambition as the season moves forward. December is a busy month & with injuries pilling up both The Swans & The Gaffer are being tested.

December 2026:
December brought a tougher examination, as the busy festive schedule tested depth and resilience, producing a mixed but ultimately encouraging set of results across league and cup competition.

The month began with a setback at home, falling 2–1 to Bristol City, before a disciplined display earned a 0–0 draw away at Middlesbrough. However, momentum stalled shortly after, with a 2–1 defeat at Wrexham followed by a frustrating 2–0 home loss to Sheffield Wednesday, making it a difficult start to the winter period.

Attention then turned to cup football, and the response was emphatic. A composed and professional 2–0 away victory over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup quarter-final marked a turning point, restoring belief and keeping silverware firmly in sight.

That result sparked a strong finish to the month. Back-to-back 1–0 home wins against West Brom and Sheffield United underlined a return to defensive solidity, while a hard-fought 2–1 away victory at Millwall on Boxing Day showcased character and determination during the congested schedule.

By the end of December, the record stood at four wins, one draw, and three defeats, with progress in the cup and a late surge in league form providing optimism. While early defensive lapses proved costly, the strong finish and ability to grind out results suggest the squad emerged from the festive period battle-hardened and well-positioned for the challenges ahead.

Midfielder Freddie Potts has joined the club on a permanent transfer from West Ham United for a fee of £550,000, becoming the club’s second midfield addition of the season.

The deal, agreed in November, saw the club move early to secure Potts’ signature after he had been playing with West Ham’s Under-21 side. The midfielder arrives to strengthen central options and is expected to become a regular fixture at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Potts will wear the number 16 shirt.

January 2027:

January provided an eventful and attacking month, combining strong league form with high-stakes cup football and little margin for error throughout.

The month began positively with a hard-fought 2–1 away victory over Wycombe in the league, setting an early tone. Momentum quickly built at home, where an emphatic 4–2 win against Spurs in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg delivered a statement performance and placed the side firmly in control of the tie. Confidence was high heading into the FA Cup, but a chaotic third-round clash away at Huddersfield ending in a penalty shootout which thankfully The Swans win.

League action resumed with a thrilling run of fixtures. A narrow 3–2 home win over Norwich highlighted attacking quality and resilience, before that momentum was briefly checked with a frustrating 2–1 away defeat to QPR. The response, however, was immediate and convincing. January concluded with an impressive 4–2 home victory over Watford, capping a strong end to the month and reinforcing home form.

By the end of January, the record stood at five wins and one defeat from six matches, with 17 goals scored across all competitions. While defensive lapses proved costly at times, the attacking output and crucial Carabao Cup success ensured the month was a positive one overall, leaving the side well-placed both domestically and in pursuit of silverware.

Transfer News:

Oscar Olivier:

A promising 19-year-old right wing-back signed for £2m, Olivier looks a smart long-term investment. He’s quick, agile, and energetic, with good crossing, tackling, marking, and work rate, making him well-suited to an attacking wing-back role. Mentally solid for his age with strong determination and decisions, plus a trait to get forward whenever possible.

Still physically light and technically raw in places, but with high potential and the right development, he can grow into a reliable first-team wing-back or valuable asset.

Olivier.webp

Tyrese Asante:
A powerful, versatile 24-year-old who can play at centre-back, right-back, wing-back, or defensive midfield. He’s physically strong and athletic, with good pace, stamina, jumping reach, and strength, and brings real bite thanks to high aggression, bravery, work rate, and determination.

Technically reliable rather than flashy, but his tackling, marking, positioning, and teamwork make him ideal as a defensive midfielder or hybrid half-back. A dependable, hard-working player who adds steel, leadership, and flexibility to the squad.

A good January window for you and nothing separating the top 3 teams at the moment is going to make a very stressful 2nd half to the season
Going to go right down to the wire, luckily have beaten Norwich twice & Leeds already, just need to stop those random losses to low teams & we’ll be right up there!

Fingers crossed for you for those last few months of the season to push for promotion. Great window, definitely strengthened the side!

February 2027:

February delivered a relentless and emotionally charged month, testing The Swans across league and cup competitions with little respite and even less margin for error.

The month began with disappointment, as the Carabao Cup run came to an end following a 3–0 defeat away to Spurs in the semi-final second leg. Despite the progress made to reach that stage, the tie slipped away, bringing a sharp shift in focus back toward league objectives.

Championship action resumed in emphatic fashion. A dominant 3–0 away victory over Birmingham restored confidence and underlined the side’s attacking quality on the road. That was followed by one of the most chaotic fixtures of the season, a pulsating 4–4 draw away at Leicester, where attacking intent was on full display but defensive control proved elusive. Home form remained strong, with an entertaining 5–3 victory over Derby showcasing resilience and an ability to outscore opponents in open contests.

Cup frustrations returned in mid-February, as FA Cup hopes were ended by a narrow 3–2 defeat away to Leyton Orient. Despite creating opportunities, defensive lapses once again proved costly, reinforcing a recurring theme of the month.

League momentum continued regardless. A hard-fought 3–2 home win over Hull was followed by an impressive 3–2 away victory at Preston, highlighting both character and consistency during a demanding run of fixtures. February concluded with a tight 2–1 win away to Wolves, a result that typified the fine margins faced throughout the month.

March 2027:

March delivered a shorter but decisive month in the Championship calendar, one that showcased The Swans at their most ruthless, combining attacking fluency with timely control as the promotion race intensified.

The month opened in emphatic fashion at home, as Charlton were swept aside in a dominant 5–1 victory. From the opening exchanges, The Swans set the tempo, overwhelming their visitors with pace and movement and laying down an early marker for the run-in. That momentum halted in the following week, where away at Luton The Swans produced an honestly disgusting performance which resulted in a 4–1 defeat, a swift bounce back for the South Wales Derby was required.

Attention then turned to a fiercely contested South Wales derby, and The Swans rose to the occasion. A commanding 4–0 home win over Cardiff not only delivered local bragging rights but also underlined the side’s maturity and composure in high-pressure fixtures. Defensively solid and devastating going forward, it proved to be one of the most complete performances of the season.

March concluded with a trip to Everton, where momentum continued. A 3–0 win away from home brought the month to a close and served as a reminder of the fine margins still present at this stage of the campaign, particularly against experienced opposition.

By the end of March, The Swans had recorded three wins and one defeat from four league matches, scoring an impressive 16 goals in the process. The month reinforced the side’s attacking identity and ability to dominate key fixtures, while the setback at Luton provided a timely reset heading into a crucial final stretch of the season.

April 2027:

April proved to be a decisive and commanding month, as The Swans continued their push toward promotion with a series of mature and emphatic league performances.

The month began with a narrow but important 1–0 home victory over Leeds. While not as free-flowing as some recent outings, it was a controlled display that demonstrated patience and defensive discipline, ensuring another crucial three points at a key stage of the season.

Momentum accelerated dramatically away from home the following week. A ruthless 5–1 victory at Bristol City showcased The Swans at their devastating best, combining clinical finishing with relentless attacking pressure. That performance was quickly surpassed back on home soil, where Middlesbrough were swept aside in a dominant 6–0 win, one of the standout results of the campaign and a clear statement of intent in the promotion race.

April concluded with a more testing fixture away at Coventry. Despite twice taking the lead, The Swans were forced to settle for a in a competitive contest, a result that underlined both the challenge of away fixtures late in the season and the fine margins still at play.

The Final Game:

Swansea City 4–1 Wrexham

Sky Bet Championship | Saturday 1st May 2027 @ Swansea.com Stadium

Swansea City sealed the Sky Bet Championship title and promotion to the Premier League in emphatic fashion, delivering a commanding 4–1 victory over Wrexham on a historic afternoon at the Swansea.com Stadium.

With the stakes clear and the atmosphere electric, The Swans started with intent and purpose, quickly asserting control despite Wrexham enjoying early spells of possession. Swansea’s pressing and vertical movement soon paid dividends, as Cameron Congreve opened the scoring inside ten minutes, sparking celebrations around the stadium and settling any early nerves.

The lead was doubled soon after through Eom Ji-Sung, whose intelligent movement and composure in front of goal epitomised Swansea’s attacking identity. Wrexham responded briefly, pulling a goal back to threaten a tense contest, but any momentum was swiftly extinguished before the interval. Melker Widell restored the two-goal cushion with a well-taken finish, sending Swansea into the break firmly in control at 3–1.

Rather than protecting their advantage, The Swans emerged after half-time with the same attacking intent. Discipline without the ball and ruthlessness in transition continued to stretch Wrexham, and just after the hour mark, Congreve struck again, finishing off a flowing move to put the result beyond doubt and underline his influence on the decisive occasion.

Despite conceding possession for large periods, Swansea were clinical where it mattered. They created the clearer chances, won key duels, and controlled the game’s rhythm in the moments that mattered most. Defensively, the back line remained composed, while the midfield provided the balance required to manage the occasion without sacrificing attacking threat.

When the final whistle sounded, confirmation followed — Swansea City were champions. Players collapsed to the turf, supporters erupted in celebration, and the significance of the achievement became unmistakable. Promotion to the Premier League had been secured not through caution, but through bold, attacking football that defined the season.

This victory was the perfect reflection of the campaign as a whole: fearless in approach, united in execution, and worthy champions. Swansea City are back where they believe they belong — among England’s elite.

Champions. Promoted. Premier League bound. 🦢⚽

Transfer News:

Just because the season has concluded doesn't mean the Gaffer isn't working day in & day out - Swansea have already confirmed their first transfer being back as a Premier League side confirming the singing of Nelson Deossa. Signed from Real Betis for £2.8m.

With the 5 games left I was quietly confident, then we beat Leeds which confirmed us going up but really wanted to win the title. Plenty of transfer business to come!

Pre Season Report:
Swansea’s pre-season featured a demanding mix of domestic and international opposition, with plenty of lessons learned. The Swans opened with a 3–0 defeat to Córdoba and a 2–1 loss against Sevilla B, before showing attacking promise in a 3–3 draw away to Málaga.

Back on home soil, performances stabilised with draws against Barnsley (1–1) and Heidenheim (1–1), followed by a disciplined 0–0 draw with Premier League opposition Everton. Momentum built late on, ending July with a 1–0 win over Blackburn, before a strong 5–2 victory against Macclesfield to close pre-season.

Overall, a mixed but encouraging programme: defensive solidity improved as the weeks progressed, fitness levels rose, and the squad finished pre-season with confidence and goals, ready for the Premier League challenge ahead.

Game 1:
Swansea’s Premier League return began with a frustrating home defeat as Nottingham Forest proved more clinical at the Swansea.com Stadium. Despite a fairly even contest, Forest took their chances while Swansea were left to rue missed opportunities.

Jota Silva opened the scoring on 31 minutes, punishing a lapse at the back to give the visitors the lead. Swansea responded well after the break and enjoyed spells of pressure, but were unable to turn possession and chances into goals. That inefficiency was punished again on 50 minutes when Morgan Gibbs-White doubled Forest’s advantage.

Overall, a competitive performance from Swansea, but a reminder that Premier League survival will demand sharper finishing and concentration at both ends.

August 2027:

Swansea’s August was a mixed but ultimately encouraging month as they adjusted to life back in the Premier League.

Pre-season wrapped up positively with a 5–2 home win over Macclesfield, setting a confident tone. The league campaign then began with a 0–2 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, a competitive performance but one decided by Forest’s clinical edge.

That was followed by a tough away trip to Spurs, ending in a 5–1 loss, highlighting the step up in quality at the top end of the division. Swansea responded well, bouncing back with a 2–1 squeaky home win over Newcastle, securing a valuable early Premier League victory.

Cup progress added further positivity, with a 3–1 away win at Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup Second Round. The month finished in emphatic style as Swansea claimed a 4–0 away win over Burnley, a statement result that boosted both confidence and momentum.

League action saw a strong response at home with a 3–2 win over Brighton, showcasing attacking intent and resilience. However, momentum stalled away at Aston Villa, where Swansea were edged out 3–2 in a closely fought contest.
