Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Section First Round Draw
Tranmere Rovers have drawn Walsall away in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern section.

N-Power League One

Tranmere Rovers failed to win for the second time in 4 days, with this disappointing lose to promotion favourites Charlton Athletic. In Herion's first home league game his teams fell behind on the 21st minute after an instinctive finish from Charlton forward Danny Haynes who found the bottom corner of the net. Tranmere then levelled through veteran Ian Goodison after he latched on to an Andy Robinson free kick to head home at the back post on the 36th minute. Then Charlton came out in the second half and really dominated the game forcing Fon-Williams into some great saves. Then on the 68th minute Charlton skipper Johnnie Jackson headed home a well worked Charlton corner to send the visitors home with all 3 points, which undoubtedly send the fans home happy on their long trip back to the Capital.

Herion's side will now travel to Leyton Orient on the Tuesday night looking to pick up their first 3 points of the new season.
