Louis van Gaal announces his retirement from management.

View attachment 217148

Louis van Gaal has announced his retirement from football management. He has stated that with great regrets he has to announce his retirement due to his wife stressing the urge to spend more time with him, and he believes it is the right time for somebody else to take over at Manchester United. It was well noted that van Gaal would not be staying at Manchester United for a very long time, but nobody expected him to leave Manchester United this early, after his appointment in May 2014, it was expected he would see out his current contract which lasted until 2017.

Van Gaal managed to spur Manchester United into a 4th placed finish in the Barclays Premier League and make a hugely awaited return to the Champions League, albeit through the play-offs, which the new Manager will have to guide them through
. The Dutch mastermind has now officially resigned from his post as the Manchester United Manager and seems like he is sticking to his word that Manchester United would be the last team that he would manage.

The new signings at Manchester United are shocked by the news, with German International Bastian Schweinsteiger said to be absolutely gutted, as he was looking forward to working under van Gaal for a second time, after working together at Bayern Munich. With other new signings such as Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Anthony Martial left in the lurch, wondering who the Manager will be that guides them into the new chapter of their careers.

Guardiola tops Manchester United wishlist.

Since Louis van Gaal left Manchester United last week, there has been non-stop speculation as to who is going to take the reins at Old Trafford. It has emerged that SkyBet’s favourite to take over is current Bayern Munich Manager Pep Guardiola, with Carlo Ancelotti another possible candidate for the vacancy. Other candidates include Ryan Giggs, and some farfetched candidates like Brendan Rodgers and Jaap Stam coming to Old Trafford, which almost seems impossible for any Red Devils fan to contemplate.

Current Bayern Munich Manager Pep Guardiola has been linked with Manchester United every time the job has become available recently, before David Moyes was at the helm and even before Louis van Gaal was appointed Manager at the club. It was announced in January 2013 that Pep would join the German giants after taking a break from the game since leaving Barcelona, who won the treble under new Manager Luis Enrique last season.

Carlo Ancelotti is the other candidate noted in taking the current vacancy at Old Trafford. Ancelotti was sacked as Real Madrid Manager at the end of last season after a disappointing campaign from Los Galacticos, although Barcelona's fortune no doubt had a dealing in the dismissal of the Italian Coach. Since then, Rafa Benitez has taken over at the Santiago Bernabeu. Since interviewing Manchester United fans they are hoping the club announce a loyal Manager, but do not want to replace Louis van Gaal with another David Moyes.

Giggs interviewed for Old Trafford vacancy.

Well, we all knew that Ryan Giggs was going to be in the running for the current vacancy at Manchester United, and now it is official, he has been interviewed for the vacancy at Old Trafford along with 3 other unknown candidates. The Old Trafford favourite was Assistant Manager to old boss Louis van Gaal before his retirement from football, and has now been boosted up the SkyBet rankings and is now third favourite to take over at Manchester United, with Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti first and second respectively. Even though the Bayern Munich Manager has dismissed the interest from Manchester.

Another Manager who has been interviewed for the current vacancy at Old Trafford is former Real Madrid Manager Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian Manager has a huge pedigree and is no doubt the current favourite to take over at Old Trafford with Pep Guardiola ruling himself out of the job.

Guardiola stated "I went to Bayern Munich for a reason, I am not going to jump ship now, I have a job to do, and I am going to fulfill my role here."

With this news it seems that only Ryan Giggs and Carlo Ancelotti are in the running for the job at the moment, mind you, nobody knows what happens at Old Trafford behind closed doors. SkyBet has also recently heard that Jaap Stam is in the running for a return to Old Trafford, but that seems it would be an extremely long shot.

Giggs announced new Manchester United Manager.

View attachment 216946

Ex-Welsh International Captain Ryan Giggs has been appointed the new Manchester United Manager. The new Manager spent his entire playing career at Old Trafford and is the clubs most capped player with a total of 931 appearances for Manchester United, an incredible feat. Giggs has wasted no time in appointing an Assistant at Old Trafford, with former team-mate Jaap Stam being announced as the club’s new Assistant Manager.

The new Manchester United Manager now faces his biggest task, getting the squad on his side. And which players to bring in to the new club, with players like Marco Reus and Juan Bernat being linked to the red side of Manchester. Giggs' pre-season begins with friendlies against Fenerbahce (TUR), Lugano (SWI), Bolton Wanderers (ENG), Wrexham (WAL), Sheffield Wednesday (ENG), before a final pre-season fixture against Bayern Munich (GER).

All the players currently present at Old Trafford will be looking to impress their new boss during the pre-season before facing Newcastle United in their opening Barclays Premier League fixture of the season at St. James' Park. Giggs' has a difficult start to his campaign after that, playing Arsenal at Old Trafford before the first Champions League Best Placed Play-off, then facing old rivals Liverpool at Anfield, then the reverse fixture of the Champions League. Hopefully Giggs will get the squad on his side before the games start coming thick and fast.

Pre-Season 2015/16.

The new Manchester United Manager could not have wished for a better pre-season, not facing defeat in any of the opening games the squad faced, only conceding three goals in seven outings. Giggs' showed he can fight we anyone, even beating German Champions Bayern Munich 2-0 at Old Trafford in the final game of pre-season, no doubt giving his squad a huge lift before the opening game of the Barclays Premier League campaign.

Pre-season started with a 5-1 victory over United's U21 squad, before facing Fenerbahce at Old Trafford and beating the Turkish giants 3-1, with new signing Anthony Martial scoring along with Daley Blind and hot prospect James Wilson. Next up United faced Lugano in Switzerland, also beating Lugano 3-1, with James Wilson scoring in his second consecutive game, Antonio Valencia and Michael Carrick also scored in the game.

Manchester United then returned to England at the Reebok Stadium and faced beat Bolton Wanderers 3-0 where Memphis Depay, Antonio Valencia and once again James Wilson got on the scoresheet. Next up was Wrexham who currently ply their trade in the Vanrama Conference, where Memphis Depay and an own goal from Mark Carrington secured the win for United, unfortunately new signing Alvarez Balanta was sent off during this game in his first pre-season friendly of the campaign.

Next up was Sheffield Wednesday where once again United ran ragged, beating Wednesday 3-0 with Anthony Martial scoring a brace, and midfielder Ander Herrera getting on the scoresheet. The final game of pre-season was against Bayern Munich where United beat the German Champions 2-0 at Old Trafford, in this game Antonio Valencia and new signing Memphis Depay scored both the goals to give United an incredible 100% record in their pre-season results.

Overall, pre-season was exceptionally good for new Manager Ryan Giggs, who will be hoping United can carry on their good form into the opening game of the Barclays Premier League. United are faced with a tough opening few games with Newcastle United, Arsenal and Liverpool their first three fixtures of the new campaign.
