O'Neill resigns
Sadness struck the Midlands as former Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill resigned from his post at the club early in the afternoon on July 1st. The Villa boss stood down citing personal reasons keeping him out of the game. He has said to have been really sad that he has had to leave and the frontrunners for the job are currently, Roy Hodgson and Steve McClaren. A few fans have already jumped on the conspiracy wagon claiming O'Neill really left due to lack of funds and Randy told Mr. O'Neill to say it was personal reasons, many rumours have been swirling around but surely we will not know the truth until the new manager is announced.
Joke?
The Aston Villa fans were left in utter disbelief last night when rookie-manager Daniel Craythorne, born and raised in Lichfield was appointed new manager of the club he has supported for the whole of his life, Aston Villa. Rander Lerner said "He is a very qualified coach and is a strong mental person and that's what I and lots of other people look for in a manager, mental toughness." Daniel Craythorne was almost laughed at as he was in the middle of his press-conference but the new-man covered his frustration and anger with a cheeky smile. Daniel Craythorne will start training with the Villa squad on Monday in preperation for they're pre-season tour of Scotland.
