THINKING OUT OF THE BOX:
Tony Mowbray in Middlesbrough.

Sat down, took a sip of tea and placed my head in my hands, thinking. We needed something big, something different. I sat up, took another sip of tea and walked up to the chairman’s office. After knocking hurriedly on the door, I swung it open and stepped in.
“Morning Tony,” said Mr Steve Gibson.
“Morning Steve.”
“What can I do for you?”
“We need something bigger, we need to think out of the box.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“We’re not the best team here, but we can be if we make a few adjustments around the place.”
He looked confused; “What do you want? More transfer money? More freedom?”
“No, we need a training upgrade to begin with, and also a better youth coaching scheme to get us up off the ground”
“We can do that, but what about after that?”
“Well, that’s the only thing we can do for now, but next season I need a bigger budget, it’s fine for this season, but next season I’m starting over.”
“As in new players? New staff?” He seemed worried now.
“Yeah, thinking out of the box, ya know?”
He was slow to reply this time, something was bugging him about the whole thing. “It’s on your head Tony, if Middlesbrough get relegated during this scheme, it’s on your head. You’re out as soon as I get a whiff of relegation. Alright?”
“Yes, absolutely, thank you” I left, grinning slightly.
