I have been a Champ Man/FM player for years now and have seen the game steadily improve year on year.

The one thing that still really makes me mad is how, suddenly, for know obvious reasons, my team of players turn from a Championship winning side into a team that cannot string 2 passes together now we have been promoted to the Premiership. The passing is now woeful and my strikers have suddenly lost the ability to score even the most simplest of goals. Tackling is but a distant memory and opposing teams pass the ball into the back of the net time and time again.
I have also noticed the amount of penalties we concede has increased as has the number of goals we do score that are disallowed.

Now I know I have moved from the Championship to the Premiership but my team are not bad enough to have suddenly reverted to League 2 standard :@

I am Notts County in my 4th season and my my current starting 11 are:

GK Lung Jnr
DL Jan Durica
DC Jose Enrique
DC Fabricio Coloccini
DR Carlos Diogo
MR Andres D'Alessandro
MC Abel Aguilar
MC Tiago
ML Jonas Borring
FC Javier Portillo
FC Sami Allagui

Now I appreciate this is not a premiership winning side but I think this team should be able to hold its own in the Premiership, at least mid-table. All of a sudden the team is falling apart and I am starting to get disillusioned with the game. Nothing I do seems to make one bit of difference to the outcomes of the matches.

Has anyone else encountered this issue of a team suddenly reverting to a non-league ability and getting beaten every single game? I cannot believe this just happens to me!

Must admit. I just got promoted from league 1 to the championship with Leeds. Beckford scored a packet last season , scored all the simplest of chances. As soon as i got promoted everything changed . He cant score at all now and therefore finds himself on the bench. I understand that he wont score as many as last year but hes only scored 2 and im halfway through the season . Last time around he was up at something like 18-19. Quite dissapointed by this. By the way , you are correct when you say about your team sustaining a mid table finish , your squad definetaly looks good enough for that.

Change your tactics..

It's well known that the opposition figures your tactics out after a season or two and the way you play. It's more realistic and it tests your managerial skills.

it doesn't matter if your team is good or not, part of how the game determines results is club reputation. if you have a **** rep, you won't win.

no offence mate, but your team doesnt look like a mid table prem side, especially 4-5 seasons in.

No, I agree. But this is my first season in the Premiership having been promoted as winners of the Championship last season, not my 4th season in the premiership!

My point is that the game seems to totally dumb the team down - my team is not as bad as the game engine seems to be making me seem!

Ever got the desire to punch your fist through the monitor as you get beaten so totally by one of the teams that got promoted with you?

As for tactics - I am not a 'default' merchant by any means. No matter what I do or try my team plays like a Blue Square Premier side!!

Reputation has nothing to do with it. It's tactics.

what the **** are you talkng about if you have a club reputation like man U you will probably win the game my **** its all about fitness levels and how the team is gelling

Agree. I started in BSP as Wrexham and reached League 1 in 2 season. Ibrahima Thiam was banging in goals by the dozen in BSP and League 2 suddenly couldn't score even if the goal was big as the ground and is now moaning sitting on the bench. I won the League 2 by a country mile in my second season but as soon as I got into League 1 the team was $hit. The other frustrating thing I find is that the board doesnt have the ambition to go forward. 4 seasons in a row I've had 0 transfer fund and all the board wants is avoiding relegation not wanting to go forward. 4 seasons with the same team in such a scenario you get disillusioned.

The same thing happened to me with my Derby squad.

first season, Benjani and David Healy were unstoppable in the Championship, with 27 goals each, in the Prem, all of a sudden they couldn't score the easiest of chances. once Healy was in front of goal with only the keeper to beat, and the keeper somehow stretches out and saves it. and this happens WITH EVERYONE ON MY TEAM.

And this also happened in FM09 as I recall which is why I lost interest after a while. This is one aspect of the game that really needs looking at in my opinion.

Everything else is pretty **** good.
