Also the reason your game stops responding is probably due to your laptop not having enough memory, usually down to you running to many programmes or pressing the windows button while the game is processing.
FM is very fragile but in all fairness if you don't like it there are alternatives, I personally never get crash dumps, the only time I've ever had one was when I kept trying to edit my name through FMRTE - crash dumps have been around for years and I doubt they will be fixed in FM11.
