Intro

I 've decided to start a new save. The Unemployment Challenge. It is one of the most realistic challenges on Football Manager. You start without any experience or coaching badges, the goal is to become the best manager in the world.

Looking for a job

Job hunting

I´m home in my apartment writing job applications. I`m writing, writing and writing. But I don`t really have anything to offer, I have never managed a club before. I don’t know what to do. But I’m hoping that someone will give me a chance. After a couple of hours I’m finally done with the applications. Hopefully I get a job.

It goes some days before I get the first feedback. Sorry, sorry and apologize. No, this will not work. I continue to submit applications. The days go by and I'm sitting with a little hope that I get the chance somewhere. The days go by and I can not sit still. I can not find something constructive to do either. Hope I get a reply soon.

Suddenly the phone rings, not just one time but 4 times. I've been asked to come for an interview to four clubs in Sweden. I jump around in sheer joy, this is not true. I throw myself into the car and drive down to Sweden.

Ånge IF has given me the job as manager. I've got a one-year contract and £375 a week. I'm thrilled. I can not wait to get started.

Ånge IF is in Ånge in Sweden, a small village which has about 3,000 residents. The last 50 years, people have moved away from the small town. Almost no move here, except me then. Having signed with Ånge IF so it strikes me, what the **** have I done now? Moving to the countryside in Sweden, there is nothing here except trains. Should this be an adventure?

It was a disappointing season. It`s difficult to build a team without money. we needed more players this season. If we had a slightly wider squad this season it could gone much better. The question is what happens next.

Right after the last league game I was summoned to meet with the board. They wanted an explanation as to why it has gone so bad and what I can do to turn the ship around. The fact is that the squad was too small. In addition, this was my first season as manager, I learn from mistakes. The tactic worked well, we had bad luck much of the season. After a few hours so we agreed that I get to keep my job. However, the Board requires that we take 10 points in the first 5 games next season. There is a lot for a club that almost got relegated. I need a few weeks to find out if it is right to continue in the job.

After a few weeks I called the director. I told him that I resign. I do not see how I can change this team. There is no money to sign new contracts. It's tough to be manager at the lowest level, a lot tougher than I thought. But the main thing is that I've got some experience. What now?

(I think I forgot to tell you what the managers name is, Thomas Hansen is his name)

England or Sweden

England or Sweden?

After I resigned, I thought that I must move on. I sent some applications. My reputation is bad, but I'm young. It did not go well in the first my job, but it has nothing to say. I'll find me a new club.

I've thought a lot about what I want to do in my career. One of the greatest desires I have is to build a club from scratch, it's probably something most managers want. It's tough, but it is possible. If I am lucky I can find a club that I can do that with, maybe in Sweden or Norway, who knows.

Approximately one week after I submit the applications I got answers from two clubs. They want me for interviews. A Swedish club and an English club. I was very nervous before both interviews. One interview went badly, the other went very well. I got a new job.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A week after the interviews so I got an answer from the English club, I was not right man for them. A few days later the phone rang again. IFK Luleå want me as their new manager.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have signed a one year contract with IFK Luleå. The club plays in Division 1 Norra, level 3 in Sweden. The club is located in the small town of Lulea, town situated along the coast, north in sweden. The city has about 45 000 inhabitants.

I have completed my first coaching course, I do now have the national C license. I have started studying for National B License. I have extended my contract with one year.

I got an offer from France U21, I accepted it. Their next tournament is the U21 Euro´s, I think we can win it. I will resign from that job after the U21 Euro`s.

Girona FC in the Liga Adelante wanted me as their new manager, but the board in IFK Luleå rejected the offer from Girona FC.

A New Adventure

A New Adventure

After four years in Sweden, I decided to quit the job in IFK Luleå. I feel it is time to leave Sweden and go on a new adventure. I've had four wonderful years in Sweden, especially in IFK Luelå. We won the league. After the winning season I was the manager for All Star North in the All Star game in Division 1. We won 3-0 against All Star South. It was my first cup trophy. Team's first season in Superettan was tough, but we got a strong 9th place. I also had a brief period in France U21 the year I won the league with IFK Luleå. The aim was to win U21 Championship. We were close, but we lost the final. I'm not happy with the loss in my first final. I have acquired some experience now and I feel like I'm ready for some bigger jobs.

Manager History:
Ånge FF – 26 Games – 8W – 6D – 12L – 28 Goals – 33 Goals Conceded -5 GD – 31%
IFK Luleå – 90 Games – 38W – 26D – 26L – 113 Goals – 99 Goals Conceded - 14 GD – 42%
France U21 – 11 Games – 7W – 3D – 1L – 25 Goals – 11 Goals Conceded –14 GD – 64%
Total= 127 Games – 53W – 35D – 39L – 166 Goals – 143 Goals Conceded – 23 GD – 41%

Trophies:
2017 – Champions – Division 1 Norra – IFK Luleå
2017 – Champions – Swedish Rookie All Star Match – Swedish Rookie All Star North
2017 – Runners-up – UEFA Euro U21 – France U21

Six weeks after I left IFK Luelå, I got a new job. I'm moving to Spain. I've got the job as manager of Celta de Vigo B. I've got foot inside a big club. The B team was promoted to Liga Adelante after they won the Segunda Division B1 in 2017/18. The club is fighting to avoid relegation, they are quite far down the table. But we are only halfway through In the season, there are 21 games left to play.

A New Adventure

I choosed to quit the job in Celta de Vigo B. The season went very well. We were closer to playoff than relegation. But the fact is that I can never win promotion. I've seen the inside of a big club. it's time to continue the adventure.

I was offered a job by a national team. A country I had never thought I would work in. I travel to the Caribbean Sea, and more specifically Jamaica. An island state with about 3 million inhabitants. Jamaica is perhaps best known for reggae.

The goal is to qualify for the World Cup. But CONCACAF Gold Cup and Caribbean Cup are two cups that we can win. Jamaica lost the final in 2015 against the United States in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. They have won the Caribbean Cup 7 times, one time less than Trinidad and Tobago. The goal is to break that record, the last time Jamaica won was in 2018. The next tournament is Carribean Cup in December 2020.
