They wouldn't buy Rodwell for 45m when you can usually sign him for around 10-20m... They might have in the second season but no way in the first.
 
In about the 4th season I'm playing as West Ham and Collison has turned pretty good, and they just smashed out a £30M offer :O I had to reject though, Collison is great :D
 
The most bonkers thing I have seen Man City do is release Robinho on a free, he was then picked up by Arsenal and then the next season fork out 40 million for him. oO)
 
I remember someone negotiated himself a 500 000£ per week contract at Spurs on 09. And then wondered where did all his wage budget go...

Irl, the most bonkers thing they did was sack Hughes.
In the game, well.... everything they do is bonkers. Buying Kalou for £30m in the first season for a start.
 
yeah it would be good if you could spend your wages, but really its just trying to take up the least amount of wage budget.
and the board will always accept the lowest contract offer

True, in my Tottenham game United sold me Matt James for about £100,000 but the next season were trying to sign him back for £5M+ !
 
I've seen them sign David Pizzaro for 30m and then in January sell him on for 2.5m. They always buy Kalou on my saves and he is always a huge flop for them.
 
It may depend what you set your reputation too at the start of the game, if you are an international footballer, you are likely to receive a higher wage. When I set my rep to automatic with Fulham I was paid £3,100 which was then increased to £24,500 in my second season so I guess your managerial wage is based on the rep of the Manager you've created.

kk liverpool in the 1st season av like 2mil budget but wen im a team like barca or somet liverpool r spendin like 25mil on players how come the computers get so much more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
on my bristol city game they offered 67mil for sergio ramos
