Throw In Set Pieces

For my throw in tactics, I have set 3 players to come short during throw ins, and set the throws to "mixed". But during the actual match, all my players and the opponents crowd the opposition box and there isn't a single player coming short for the throw.

And because all the players who were supposed to come short are now in the box, I am left with fewer options outside of the opposition box, making any loose balls a big counterattacking danger.

Any help with this?

I have this as well. What team instructions were you using when this happened?

Shorter Passing
Pass Into Space
Work Ball Into Box
Play Out of Defense
Play Wider
Push Higher Up
Hassle Opponents
Be More Expressive


As an additional note, even setting the throws to "Short" doesn't work

Yeah you have the exact same instructions as me. Have you set a throw in taker or just left it blank, and, the player who takes te throw in's do they have a long throw rating?

Yeah I have a default throw in taker with 16 for throws.

Yeah I have Azpilicueta (rb) who has a high throw in rating. yet on the left side i never have long throw ins as the taker can't throw it long. That's probably why.

set someone with a shorter throw in to take throw ins for that side?

Lol ok So those with great long throw stats will never take short throws.
