Manchester United's stuttering start to the season has done little to bridge the valuation gap between buyers & Glazers

Perception that club was on the right track (on the field) under question

Exclusive: Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the Ineos petrochemicals billionaire, is contemplating buying a minority stake in Manchester United Football Club rather than seeking full control at Old Trafford, in an effort to conclude the 10 months-long process to determine its future ownership.

2/2 Ratcliffe's latest proposal is understood to envisage buying some of the A shares held by stock market investors as well as a chunk of the more powerful B shares owned by the Glazer family. It's unclear whether this latest proposal will gain momentum.

🚨
| INEOS’ position remains that they want control of #mufc. That means if they do seek a minority stake, it will be with a view to eventual control, most likely by 2026. [@JacobsBen]

🚨
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new offer would likely bring in a figure close to £1.5bn for the Glazers. While well short of a £6bn valuation, it would provide much needed funds to revamp a decaying Old Trafford, although a rebuild would NOT be possible. And would leave funds short for Carrington and womens facilities and infrastructure. #MUFC [@MikeKeegan_DM]

Sheikh Jassim will not budge on the structure of his #MUFC bid. It remains ‘all or nothing’ at around £5bn. Those close to Nine Two Foundation have always stressed they won’t entertain a minority stake or any scenario in which the Glazers stay.

Nine Two Foundation sources reiterate anything Sir Jim Ratcliffe does won’t influence them. As one insider puts it, “The two bids are like apples and pears.”

Jadon #Sancho is on the verge to leave ManUtd in winter! #MUFC
➡️
A loan is more likely than a permanent deal at this stage
➡️
#BVB coach Edin #Terzic is in regular contact with Sancho as they appreciate each other very much.

Jadon Sancho is unhappy under Erik ten Hag - he would "love to return to Dortmund and has been in contact with manager Edin Terzic" says @JacobsBen However, some senior Dortmund figures are unsure about bringing this "complex character" back

Can confirm Sheikh Jassim has withdrawn from the #MUFC process following final and advanced talks. Group offered double the $3.2bn market valuation of the club and feel the Glazers valuation is outlandish.

Sheikh Jassim had committed an additional initial amount of over $1.7bn to finance new stadium plans, training centre facilities, buy players and on city and community regeneration projects

Move comes after further talks over the past few days. Glazer family do not believe Sheikh Jassim bid meets their valuation. Sheikh Jassim believes it is the best for the club and includes $1.7bn for stadium + training ground development, wider community and bring in players.
