NUFC offer of £65.5m (+ £4.4m add-ons) for Benjamin Sesko is with RB Leipzig. Waiting for response.
🤝
But club side of things was never thought to be the biggest obstacle with this deal... which is why Sesko's own wishes will largely determine what happens next.

Mbeumo to make Utd debut v Everton in Atlanta

£71m signing missed first two tour games v West Ham & B'mouth playing catch up on fitness

Cunha could also return after being out with fatigue

How Utd saved enough money for possible striker, midfielder & gk deals. Through clever negotiations

Farcical the mess Utd made of it, but a really good player Mbeumo.
We didn’t make a mess of it mate. They wanted £75m upfront we managed to get a deal £65m with an additional £6m in add ons. The only thing that we did that I didn’t agree with was the absolute joke of a low ball first offer. It’s Brentford that kept changing positions during negotiations per Ornstein.

JUST IN: Manchester United are confident of financing a deal for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko before selling any members of their 'bomb squad'.

United have opened discussions to sign Sesko, in a deal that could cost up to £79M.

Newcastle United are resigned to Sesko joining United, having lined up the Slovenia international as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak if he joins Liverpool.

Newcastle have suggested United are at an advanced stage to sign Sesko, though club sources have denied that.#MUFC [

Cunha cost £62.5m from Wolves, but the fact United can spread the cost of his transfer and the Mbeumo deal over multiple instalments has helped the club stay within FFP restrictions and have enough left over to buy a new striker as they continue to pursue RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

United have saved more than £12m by loaning Marcus Rashford to Barcelona, who are paying all of his £315,000-a-week wages, having previously offset the salaries of Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia by sending them out on loan last season.

They have also banked an additional £30.7m this summer through sell-on clauses after Alvaro Carreras moved to Real Madrid, Anthony Elanga to Newcastle and Maxi Oyedele to Strasbourg,

while Chelsea paid a £5m penalty for not honouring their obligation to turn Sancho’s loan at Stamford Bridge into a £25m permanent deal. [

Manchester United's ongoing spending is supported by savings from Rashford’s salary, sell-on clauses, and structured payments for Cunha and Mbeumo which both selling clubs originally wanted up front. Club sources confirm efforts to sign RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko are continuing. [@sistoney67]

Rasmus Hojlund has reiterated privately to Manchester United comments made in public that he wants to stay at the club and fight for his place.

Hojlund is not keen on a move to Leipzig, despite it being discussed as one option linked to #MUFC’s Benjamin Sesko talks.

no decision yet from Sesko. Soon but not yet. Newcastle always been ready to pay the €80m needed, already since last week. Man United also speaking to RB Leipzig after convincing player. Let’s see what he decides. All depends if Man United and RB Leipzig can agree terms.
