He said I think that the cricket team were ambushed in Africa (which they weren't) and obviously there is only one cricket team in Africa (South Africa) which is why It couldn't have been an African team.

This is why there is racism aswell, because terrorist's are sadly a stereotype for Muslims and why people with Black skin get racial abuse which is uncalled for. listen, maybe it is a little extreme. but what is going on there now? billions is being given to them every year to help them live, and what happens in return for our aid? they kill each other in futile wars. now to me i think our agreement needs some new terms, that's all. for every guerilla faction that puts down their arms, they should be suitably rewarded with extra aid, and vice versa.
I think you will find most of this "aid" is loans. African countries owe billions of pounds. So that ***** your whole idea up doesn't it.. And one more thing, what exactly do you know about these gorilla factions? What do you know about African politics? I'm geussing very little..

Are you mental? Do you really think that everyone in africa wants to kill each other theres millions of totally innocent people who want to be free of violence and war. People there are only becoming so extremely violent because of their extreme situation, theres poverty every where in africa so instead of stopping aid why not cancel all debts and help them build a solid government etc so they can deal with it themselves.

Actually, what the US has spent on "the war on terror" could actually have wiped out third world debt. The problem the aid money that goes to Africa usually gets into the hands of crooks and theives and terrorists. You think threatening poverty with poverty is going to stop terrorism? Terrorism and guerilla warfare grows from poverty. Why do you think Africa is rife with terrorism? The western world would be reluctant to wipe out any poverty in Africa. A) It costs money. B) More competition economically C) The rise in population growth - the world is already over-populated. D) First world countries would no longer be able to take advantage of African nations via globalisation.

This has got to do with terrorism, this is more bandits trying to get cash. They were probably paid to shoot at Togo.

Or it may teach them to rely on themselves. i'm more for the trade, not aid approach. Problem is their rotten and corrupt; read a myriad of articles on them where governments go back on deals and take western companies' holdings.
But they're unable to pay them back and they're pretty much mired in debt.
Helping them build a solid government? How? Like we do in Afghanistan, which is now the worst hellhole on Earth; you're most likely to be killed, kidnapped, robbed etc there. And it's almost 9 years since we invaded.
But what would wiping out their debt do? Would they learn anything? What would stop them from doing it all again? And there's not many terrorists in Africa; the Somalis, even the islamist ones, say they'll turn Osama over for the cash. And Britain needs to see to its own debt before wiping other countries' debts. i must disagree on your conception that terrorism will always exist; it's only the last few years that modern terrorism has blossomed. But yeah, it's a stupid place to hold the African cup of Nations.
Personally, the old colonies would do much better under British/Spanish/French/Portugese etc rule, thought it is not universal. When they were colonies there was corruption, but look at most countries when they were freed and left to their own. Civil war; india vs Pakistan, Sri Lankan civil war, Africa in general, crazy *** South American snowstorm governments etc. When the colonial powers left the countries degenerated into chaos and corruption, from which many developed a culture for it. One example is that we're not inventing any more antibiotics as we all know the indians, Brazilians and Chinese will just make cheaper copies, nevermind copyright law.
But i also realise that most people don't like being ruled by somebody else;p
Yes this was a horrible thing to happen. And the state of Africa and the middle east will never be fully resolved, it's impossible due to hundreds of different factors, but we can only do our best to help the innocent and poor, cutting off an entire continent would only bring more destruction to the world in the future.
