Birmingham Face Tough Pre-Season
Birmingham are practicing for a tough season ahead by facing top opposition from 3 Top Europeon Leagues. Birmingham will start with a home game to Olympic Marseille. Two weeks later they will face top Scottish side Celtic followed 2 days later by Juventus. Both these two games will also be played at home. They seem up for the fight after beating the Reserve team 4-0.

Birmingham Chase Midfield Duo
Following being given £31Million after saying i will compete for the title Birmingham City boss Tommie Redgrave has placed bids on Manchester Uniteds Ji Sung Park and Perscara's 16 Year old Wonderkid Marco Verratti. If these deals do go through Sebastion Larsson be leaving after getting interest from Everton Fc

Wigan Athletic have fired Roberto Martinez after a less than impressive season in charge of Wigan. He had this to say:

Roberto Martinez said:
I'd like to thank the players, the backroom staff and most of all the fans after an enjoyable season incharge of Wigan. Unfortunately it wasn't to be, and I shall be leaving my post at Wigan Athletic.

----

Just hours after the decision to fire Martinez, Wigan chairman, Dave Whelan, has appointed Evertonian Chris Waring. The fans of Wigan Athletic are said to be furious that such an inexperienced manager has took charge of a club on the up, but Dave Whelan responded:

Dave Whelan said:
I have full confidence in Waring that he will be able to turn this club around and get it fighting for some silverware. I wouldn't have made him manager if I didn't believe in him.

----

Just hours after being appointed, Waring has come forward in his first press conference and stated the club are in talks with Ruben Amorim and Anthony Annan. Amorim will provide some good backup for the central midfield position, where Annan will be fighting Diame for a defensive midfield position, or a centre midfielder.

Annan signs for Latics
Rock solid defensive midfield/centre midfielder Anthony Annan has put pen to paper on a 4 year deal for approximately 3.3million in monthly installments. Annan revealed he was relishing the prospect of playing in a better standard of league.

Ruben Amorim is also amongst Annan of centre mids who join Wigan, signing on the dotted line for £1million.

The rest of the transfers are here:

Pre-Season

I feel we put up a good performance in pre-season. We could have played better against Juventus and Marseille but then again there top clubs. Our performance against Celtic proves we can put up a fight in this league

The transfers we made can definatly take our club to the next level. The signings of Adriano and Diarra will be very useful in doing that. We also have a loan offer on Gael Kakuta at the moment

August Update

Results
Wigan 1-1 West Ham (N'Zogbia)
Wigan 1-2 Bolton (Sinclair)
Man Utd 3-1 Wigan (Rodallega)
Sunderland 0-0 Wigan
Wigan 2-1 Barnsley (Scotland, Sinclair)

My thoughts? It was a really poor month against some sides we could have beat. Looking to change tactics and improve on this month whilst putting the performances behind us

New Signings

I bought two new players on deadline day and the day after, Bruno to boost my midfield options as I sold Ben Watson and Nicolas Otamendi because I sold Emmerson Boyce and he will challenge for a starting place from now and into the future.

As you can see, I've been sacked after a disappointing loss to Plymouth in the League Cup, so I'm afraid this will be my last post as a manager. Thanks to Tommo for letting me manage in this challenge, and I will keep following to see who wins out of you two. Good luck guys
