Top Fast CBs - Help?

Im currently Arsenal, Mertasacker - Vermaelan works well however Merts pace is starting to become an issue, Good players just run in behind him, Ive tried to use a deeper line however it doesnt work. Was wandering are there any CBs out there who are quick with decent aerial ability and tackling?

Phil Jones is epic when he develops. Pacey and a good stopper/cover.

Mario Fernandes from Gremio is an absolute beast of a CB - Cover, also doubles up as a Right Full Back - Attack

His tackling isn't the best but his anticipation and speed certainly make up for that.

I do not use slow defenders, they are a massive liability against poachers. If they are fast but short, they get screwed in set pieces... So here are a few tall and fast options...

Ball playing defenders: Gary cahill ( Bolton ), Andreu Fontas ( Barca )

Limited defenders:
1. James Tomkins ( West ham )
2. Tore Reginiussen ( Schalke )
3. Jan Simunek ( Kaiserslautern )
4. Stefan Bell ( Mainz ) ( monster prospect )
5. Andrea Esposito
6. Steven Caulker ( Tottenham ) ( good prospect )
7. Jan Kirchoff ( Mainz )

No love for Papadopoulos? Best CB on my current save by far, solid pace, great mental stats and brilliant at tackling/marking. Also has a habbit of scoring a fair few goals of corners.

My Otamendi - Jones partnership on my Man City game is my most solid center back partnership i have ever had. Arsenal arnt helped by their awful goalkeepers though so improve there first with a De Gea, Neuer, Akinfeev or Asenjo then it might be abit more solid.

I'll throw three names in that should be cheap and cheerful and (perhaps surprisingly) do a very solid job even for a champs league side: bikey, curtis davies, bassong. Bassong could have been downgraded on your update tho.

If I recall correctly Lucio was a pretty fast centre back. EDIT : Thiago Silva is also another good centre back who fits in what you are looking for .

Omer Toprak is a beast and quick
