Tottenham Hotspur: Champions of Europe

2009-2010
In the first season I wasn't expecting much, hopefully a place in Europe but I didn't see the point in adjusting the team too much, it seemed quite strong, so I didn't make any transfers.

League Cup: 3rd Round
FA Cup: 6th Round Replay

Poor cup results meant extra pressure was on Andy Burns, in his first season.

Premier League: 1st

A 94th minute goal on the last game of the season sealed the title for Tottenham, Wilson Palacios's 30-yard strike meant Tottenham finished 2 points above Arsenal, being the first team outside of the "top 4" to win the title since Blackburn in 1995. That season Defoe scored 23 goals and Crouch scored 22, which was a big factor on the teams success.

Looking forward to see how you've done (although I'm a Gooner ;))

Will keep checking back

I have updated the OP with the first seasons performance.

Cool, well done on finishing first, quite unexpected to be honest. Brilliant feeling scoring in the 94th minute to win the league? <)

You wouldn't believe! I was so worried, on the 88th minute I changed the tactics to overload and Palacios scored a screamer!

Update for the second season coming later this afternoon.

Nice one mate. Got a screenshot of transfers etc? Wanna see who to buy as I might start a Spurs game soon.

I've never followed a tottenham story for a reason (if you look below my avatar), but your making me wanna! Well done on winning the league, rather good.

2010-2011 Season:

I wanted to go one better than the Premier League. The Champions League. Was it really possible to win the Champions League with a club who is only experiencing it for the first time? To succeed in Europe I needed a tougher team, some better tactics and to bring a couple of big names from abroad. The planning begins...

July 1st: The transfer window opens and so do the doors to White Hart Lane for all transfer hopefulls, Andy Burns spent no time messing around with the summer months, three players joined on the first day; Patrick Viera (FREE), Matt James (£1.5M), Fernando Gago (£4M). However the 1st of July saw the departure of a fan favourite, Robbie Keane, after failing to impress his manager Keane was sold for a minimal £7.5M to Barcelona..

Throughout July and August, Andy Burns showed the world his excellent ability to balance funds. The sale of players such as Hutton (£6M), dos Santos (£9M), Assou-Ekotto (£10M) and Aaron Lennon (£12.25M) paved the way the clubs three major signings, Everton duo Mikel Arteta (£20M) & Phil Jagielka (£15M) as well as the clubs record signing; Edin Dzeko (£23.5M). Burns also brought in a host of youngsters to complement the squad.

Drawn into what could only be described as the group of death, Tottenham face Barcelona, Porto and Anderlecht. Not the teams Andy Burns would have liked to be facing. The season begins...

So how does everyone think I got on in 2010-11? :)
