Aug10-Jan11:

Community Shield:

I decided to play a slightly weaker side in this match, did quite well to be fair, a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal obviously disappointed the fans, but the performance was promising, considering it was pretty much a second string of players against the likes of Arshavin etc.

Had a superb start the season following that game, a 15 game unbeaten league streak, as well as taking a point away at Barca, and getting six points from Anderlecht, while getting a home win a Porto (and losing away) left Tottenham top of the group.

The first league defeat came at home to Man City, a poor performance all round, and thanks to Ledley King scoring in his own net pretty much gifted the away side 3 points. I tried to pick the team up from what seemed like a devestating and unnecasery loss, which worked... For a week, a victory against Fulham still couldn't build up enough confidence for the guys to get anything from Liverpool which was a shame.

We started January with two cup games, winning both, both 2-1 wins. The first against Bristol City in the FA Cup (5th Rnd.) the other was a win at home to Arsenal. Maybe it could be the start of a good year?

I decided to cash in on the full backs, as I wasn't playing a very wide formation, they were not needed yet were talented enough to make me some money.. So that was the end for Bale (£7.5M), Naughton (£7.25M) and Bouma (£3M). I also decided to sell Bentley (£8.5M), because.. Well, he's useless :)

The rest of January went as follows, 3 league wins, 1 draw, 1 loss. And 2 cup defeats, the first at Arsenal (3)1-3(4) and against Everton 0-3. But hey, at least we managed to win the Champions League group and were handed an easy draw against Bordeaux.. Or maybe it wasn't so easy?

So how's it going so far...
FA Cup: OUT
League Cup: OUT
Champions League: (First Knockout Rnd.) v Bordeaux
Premier League: 4th (Joint points with Arsenal, above, and Liverpool, below.)

Great start to February, wins against Bolton and Chelsea then a bit of an odd week with two 0-0 draws, one at Hull and the other Aston Villa. Next was the Bordeaux match, away.. Even away Bordeaux are still weaker that Tottenham, and it has to be a certainty for us?.. Or not, taking a 4-1 thrashing was not what Tottenham had in mind. It was a terrible performance all round, Gourcuff and Sinama-Pongolle ripped Andy Burns' side apart..

March was a good month for Tottenham 5 wins and 1 draw put them in a very good position in the league, chasing Man City for 2nd place. Now for the big game.. Bordeaux at home, Tottenham fan's hopes and dreams all rely on this fixture, all Bordeaux have to do is hang on to the 4-1 aggregate lead and it's all over.. But they couldn't, a Defoe double and one from Palacios meant Tottenham advance to the quarter-finals on goal difference!

Out of the 8 teams left in the Champions League, the two most surprising have to be Tottenham and Dinamo Kiev, both have defiend the big boys and are rightfully stating their places in the final few. Tottenham were inevitably drawn against Barca, I think I cried :@ ..But we've beaten them before, what's stopping us from doing it again?..

Hope you are enjoying it guys, more to follow later tonight..

win the champions legue m8 then see how u feel ull be buzzed but get some good signings u dont wanna be a wolfsburg

Could you elaborate please, not really up-to-speed with German football although I am aware they won the league last season. ( Because I had a bet on Bayern :( :| :@ )

Back on-topic, well done mate on a good team, good season and a good read :) ;)

Great home result vs. Bordeaux, thought you weren't gonna make it after the away defeat. Good luck vs. Barca, you can do it ;) Really enjoying the story so far, can't wait for the next update :)

This is a wicked story (coming from an Arsenal fan).
The last min goal to get the title is a bit cliche but ill believe it.
Carry on with the story and everyone will follow it.

Tottenham host Barcelona and despite the win against them earlier on in the season, must be considered underdogs, and will need to do well tonight to have any chance of reaching the semi finals. Andy Burns has been quoted as saying "we cannot be complacent tonight, I am confident of our scoring ability, but defensively we need to be sound, conceding any goals tonight would put a lot of pressure on us."

Tottenham finish the game better off, 3-2 winners. Although with 2 away goals, it remands to be said whether the players will withstand the pressure the Nou Camp will bring..

Tottenham 3 - 2 Arsenal - A good win for Tottenham puts them in a very strong position for 2nd place.

Barca host Tottenham, and what a contest it was, a Ibrahimovic hat-trick almost sunk Tottenham within 50 minutes, but they managed to claw two goals back with the score finishing at (6) 4-3 (6) to Barca, putting Tottenham through on away goals!

Tottenham 2 - 0 Everton - Winning there next game against Man City could mean Tottenham clinch second place, although I'm sure all eyes are on the Champions League, even if it is a long shot.

Next up is AC Milan, possibly the toughest challenge of Andy Burn's career.

You beat Arsenal AND Barca?

I take my hat off to you my friend, you've really turned Tottenham around. ^^)

The Champions League semi-finals are here, AC Milan face Tottenham and Dinamo Kiev are up against Chelsea. An English final is possible, although it has be said, AC v Chelsea is the most probable. Giant killers Tottenham have already knocked out Anderlecht, Bordeaux, Porto and Barcelona to get this far on their European debut

First Leg - Tottenham manage a very famous home victory, 3-2, although at what cost does the win come at? 2 away goals and injuries to Crouch and Dzeko means they will be out for the second leg, maybe Andy Burns will be forced to change his formation for the away match.

Tottenham 2 v 5 Man City - Well City secure 2nd place with that victory, although Tottenham will be happy with the 3rd place finish, especially with the prospect of European gold.

Second Leg - Burns sticks with his formation, opting to play Forestieri and Nsué along side Defoe, but the risk payed off, Tottenham managed a boring 0-0 against Milan which promised their place in Wembley! The shocking news is Dynamo Kiev knocked out Chelsea, 4-1 on aggregate, so what a shock final; Tottenham Hotspur v Dynamo Kiev

Tottenham finish the Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win at home to Fulham then a disappointing 2-0 loss at Anfield on the last day of the season.. The Champions League final awaits...

Champions League Final 2010
Wembley 90,000 attendance

Dynamo Kiev v Tottenham Hotspur

All the goals came early on, Tottenham started with Forestieri and Nsué upfront with Defoe, due to the injuries. with Tottenham taking a 2 goal lead after 14 minutes thanks to goals from Defoe and Nsué, and Dynamo Kiev couldn't catch up, only managing a goal on the 16th minute. The game ended 2-1 to Tottenham, man of the match going to Defoe. So there we have it, Tottenham have won the Champions League, the first team ever to have won it first time of asking! The fans are ecstatic, and surely things can only get better.

Final score:
Dynamo Kiev 1 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

How the **** did Dinamo Kiev get into the final? :O

Brilliant result Andy! As much as I hate to say it, you're sucess with Tottenham is amazing!!
