Tottenham Hotspur - European Elites

I've never had a Football Manager season last this this long before on YouTube but we are still competing for an unprecedented quadruple. After quite a long wait, we return to Wembley to face Huddersfield in the FA Cup Semi Final. The only goal of the game came from Dembele who was brilliant to follow up after a great save from the goalkeeper following a free kick from Eriksen. Unfortunately our performance replicates what we produced in the Capital One Cup final and were mostly disappointing but we do just enough to get through and set up a final tie vs Manchester Untied. Into the Europa League we have the 2nd leg vs Mainz. Lamela scores in the opening 15mins and we need to use some desperate defending at times to keep Ocasaki quiet but Ben Davies scores in the second half to wrap up a tough fought 2-0 win & 4-2 on aggregate. Our last game is in the Premier League vs Manchester City who are desperate to beat us and get into the top 4. It is perhaps one of our best performances against a top team. We are dominant and goals from Yarmolenko & Lamela give us a 2-0 lead. Augero does get one back but it isn't enough and my injury hit, exhausted squad records its 3rd win for the episode. It leaves us 3rd in the League with 2 games played less and only 5 points off Manchester United. If we win out games in hand we will top the Premier League!

In Part 21 things are finally falling apart. Too many injuries and fixtures to an exhausted squad has caught up with us. In our first game we face Leicester in the Premier League and they take the lead through Kramaric who beats Lloris at his near post. My hope is restored when Yarmolenko equalises before half time but neither side improves after the break and we settle for a 1-1 draw. This isn't good when Chelsea come up next and are just below us in the Premier League. They don't look like a struggling side however, even though they are playing away, they make White Hart Lane feel like home and a very tidy volley from Wellington Nem seals a 1-0 defeat. When form drops this quickly it makes our last game all the more difficult. We are in the Europa League Semi Final against Wolfsburg. I cancelled our training sessions leading up to this game to try and get us as rested as possible. It looks to have worked when Vertonghen & Yarmolenko give us a quickfire 2-0 lead but Dost & Arnold fire back to make it 2-2. Eriksen then steps up to make it 3-2 and that's just at half time. Unfortunately we can't hold our lead and De Bruyne equalises so we take back home a 3-3 aggregate for the 2nd leg. Despite our poor Premier League results we still end in 3rd with 71 points but we are only 1 point ahead of 4th & 5th.

The penultimate episode for season 1. Part 22 starts in the Premier League vs Everton. The first half is closely fought & finishes 0-0 but my half time team talk has the right effect. Klose scores after a very fortunate mistake by Jagielka which gives us the boost to grab a 2nd from Yarmolenko after a brilliant run & pass from Dembele to finish 2-0 to Spurs. I'm hopeful this will give us the mental strength to beat Wolfsburg in the Europa League Semi Final 2nd Leg. We are blown away by a screamer from Arnold in the opening 12 minutes and we simply cannot score past their keeper no matter what we try. It finishes 1-0 to Wolfsburg & we are out of the Europa League. Our last game today comes up against Newcatle. A win would guarantee Spurs a top 4 finish. No matter how sweet the prize though, our defeat to Wolfsburg still stings and we play out a very boring 0-0 draw. We end today in 4th place only 2 points ahead of 5th (they have played 37 games to our 36). With a greatly superior goal difference just 1 more point in either of our final 2 league games will seal Champions League qualificaiton!

Wrapping up Season 1! Two Premier League fixtures & the FA Cup final. It begins with West Brom. Berahino gives Albion the lead at half time. I fear we have nothing left in the tank but 2 strikes from Kane & 1 from Lamela sees a wonderful turn around and a 3-1 win which confirms Champions League qualification. Now its a case of trying to finish in the top 3 to avoid the play-off phase for coming 4th. Our last league game is against Aston Villa who are already confirmed relegated. We use this to our advantage and although we don't reach the performance levels we have shown in the past, Kane scores the only goal in a 1-0 to finish the League season on a high. Finally we have time to rest and have a week break to prepare for Manchester United in the FA Cup final. I'm desperate for us to play better than our previous two appearances at Wembley this season.

Van Persie is the first to strike to give Utd the lead. Kane continues his lethal form with the equaliser to make it 1-1. To turn it around and shock Utd, Yarmolenko scores to put Spurs 2-1 in front. Trying to get through to half time with a lead, a deadly counter attack from Utd sees Di Maria finish smartly and make it 2-2 at the break. After Mata has a goal ruled out for offside, Utd are then awarded a penalty which Van Perie converts to put us behind again at 3-2. We weren't finished though and Kane is the savior again to make it 3-3. Then from a free kick, the ball falls to Dembele to convert and puts Spurs in front again which we hang on to & claim a historic 4-3 FA Cup Final Victory!

To evaluate we finish with two trophies: The Capital One Cup & FA Cup. We finish 2nd in the Premier League with 81 points from 38 games. Manchester United win the league by 4 clear points on 85. We qualify immediately for the Champions League Group Stage and I finally discuss potential transfers such as a Striker, Winger, Defensive Mid & Young Goalkeeper.
