This is my second guide after Aston Villa one. I will try my best to make this guide to be understood for everyone and to be helpful.
Expectations : I think the best expectation is Qualifing for Europe, you will have a quite small budget but Spurs team is pretty good.

Goalkeepers

Heurelho Gomes
Carlo Cudicini
Jimmy Walker

Gomes is absolutely awesome goalie, he possess some great reflexes, so you are secured to not getting many goals. Cudicini is decent and he can help you if Gomes will be injured.
Walker is just a back-up so you can use him in easy matches or cup matches.

Transfers

You don't need tranfers here.

Left Backs/Wing Backs

Gareth Bale
Assou-Ekotto
Kyle Naughton

I think you need to buy a good back-up on this position and you are secured, in case that Ekotto will be injured. When Bale will be fit, I think he will be the First Team Player because he is quite good. Naughton is available to play on this position too so if you don't want to buy another back-up, you can use him if both Assou-Ekotto and Bale are injured.

Transfers

You will need a cheap back-up, try getting Jose Enrique from Newcastle, he is cheap and decent for a back-up.

Central Defenders

Johnatan Woodgate
Ledley King
Sebastian Bassong
Dorian Dervite

Woodgate is the best Central Defender in my oppinion, but King and Bassong aren't far from that standard. You can play Woodgate - Bassong or Bassong - King or Woodgate - King, all of them are good players. I think you will need a cheap back-up and maybe loan Dervite somewhere to gain experience.

Transfers

So how I said, you will need a back-up, you can try to sign on free Jorge Andrade or Sol Campbell, they are decent for back-up and they can help you in some easy matches.
Loan Dervite and you are OK here.

Right Backs/Wing Backs

Vedran Corluka
Alan Hutton
Kyle Naughton

Alan Hutton is a pretty good player, but I think you need a better Right Back here. Corluka is decent and in case you buy a new Right Back, he can become a good back-up. Naughon will develop in a good player in the future so if you are playing him from now, he can become better.

Transfers

Try to sign a better Right Back than Alan Hutton, Darijo Srna, he is quite expensive, but he is quality.

Central Midfielders

Wilson Palacios
John Bostock
Jermaine Jenas
Tom Huddlestone

Huddlestone and Bostock (he is at the Reserves Team) will develop in great players so you better start using them or at least loan Bostock somewhere. Jenas is decent, but he can't play so well as he does in the past. Wilson Palacios is a good tackler so you can use him, because his tehnique is quite useful.

Transfers

Loan Bostock and try to sign Hamsik, because your team will need a good Playmaker.

Left Wingers

Luka Modric
Niko Kranjcar

Modric is a key player, by far, you should reject all the bids for him, he is a magician. If you consider you need to sell him, Kranjcar is pretty good here, but I think you will need a better player. If you are gonna use him on this position, choose a good back-up.

Transfers

If you sold Modric, get Ashley Young and play him, if you don't want to play Kranjcar. If you are gonna play Niko, get di Maria, a good player and he can challenge Kranjcar First Team Place.

Right Wingers

Aaron Lennon
David Bentley

Lennon is a good player, his speed is awesome, but he needs to work a little on Crosses. If you train him, he will become a key player in your squad. But for all the safe, you will need to snap a free player for a back-up.

Transfers

I don't have in my mind a free player for this position, but if I remember, I will update. You can find a back-up for this position for yourself, I am sure about that.

Strikers

Peter Crouch
Jermaine Defoe
Roman Pavlyuchenko
Robbie Keane

In the first look, you are happy that you have good Strikers and yes, they are good, Defoe is the best here. You can play him with Crouch, with Pavlyuchenko or with Keane. I don't think it's necessary a back-up because you already got 4 Strikers.

Transfers

For extra-money, you can sell Pavlyuchenko and buy another player on another position. But Pavlyuchenko is decent and he might help you in hard situations.

Staff

The Staff is quite good, but you can sign some good scouts like Jeff Vetere from Newcastle and other scouts. Try to fire Kevin Bond and sign another Assistant Manager. I think you will need to work on the Youth Coaches, if I remember well some of them are ****.

Tactics

The best tactic is 4-4-2, playing the Central Defenders as Defend, the Full Backs as Support, same as Central Midfielders and Left Winger (if he is Modric or at least a good crosser) and Attack with Right Winger (if he is Lennon) and with the Strikers.
The Defensive Line and Tempo may vary from the matches you have, your Staff will tell you how to play them.

I think I made this one pretty good, I hope that it will help you!
Suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Frutty!

Excellent guide, well done.

Thanks mate.

I've just finished my first season with Spurs, finished 4th. Was expecting a transfer budget of at least £15 - £20m, but only got £5m!! Anyone else had the same issue? Is really annoying as you cant strengthen the squad without selling some players for big money.

You will get 7.75M if your target is qualifying for an European Place.

I chose Continental Qualification as my budget option, but even if i chose title challenge, it would still have been £5m! Plus (and i've only just worked this out) if you sell players, you only get a certain percentage of that fee to spend on replacements!

I think its a bit unrealistic considering Spurs are one of the biggest spenders in the premiership!!

The reason spurs budget is so low is because they have spent shed-loads in the past year, having the 2nd highest net spend in the premiership for that time. And irl Daniel Levy has, quite understandably, said "that's enough, sell to buy".

It can be true, we spend a lot of money and we didn't got that results we wanted to.
But my guide can help you get some good players, how I wrote.

I used to play against John Bostock in year 7 we went school together lol
he aint once scored against me, maybe if he did i wud b d one at spurs lol
he needs regular games on fm so try loan him to league 1 or 2 nott d championship

Great guide! I finished 2nd in the league on my 2nd season and I won the Europa League against Arsenal in the final :D

Btw, I'm searching for a replacement for Lennon since he left for United :/

I have a small criticism, in that you recommended Bale over Assou-Ekotto for first place Left-Back. In my experience, BAE performs to a higher standard than Bale, both in assists, rating and he doesn't seem to tire as easily.

Also, one more thing I just noticed, is that you recommend Hutton over Corluka at Right-Back, unless I'm mistaken and reading it inaccurately. This again, is a mistake in my opinion. Corluka lacks pace, but he still performs as one of the better RBs in the premiership. Again, just my experience playing them.

great guide thanks! :) was looking forward to ones of these guides for a while. good old crouchy and defoe upfront :D

buy agbonlahor he only costs 15 million and is a beast as a poacher, he has bad technical stats, but is awesome

I dont understand that either. Corluka is world class if played right and Hutton provides solid backup. But if you do actually only want to use him as backup then you may aswell sell him because you can usually get around 15-20 million from a top class team.

i started a spurs save and am currently 2nd in my 1st season losing just 1 game in 24, 2 points behind chelsea, beat united and liverpool at white hart lane both 2-0, beat arsenal at emirites 2-1 and just drew with chelsea at whl 0-0, chelsea yet to lose this season, bale plays ahead of ekotto just for his set pieces which is ****** awesome, im selling ekotto to real madrid for 10 million as i hate players who have low determination, corluka is class for me, the only transfers i need is replacing jenas and gomes
