Try this:-
*) Take every player off 'General' - Strikers-'Attacking', Midfield-'Technical', Defenders-'Defending'
*) Now make 'General' Intensive on all accounts except Goalkeeping - and put any U21 starlets on 'General'
*) Shift the 'Motivational' and 'technical' aspects of training up to intensive on all accounts. Then after a few games check back - some may be unhappy with this so adjust these
Players stats and value goes up according to their average rating and appearances too. So if you have a player that's constantly either on the bench or not picked their value will drop pretty quickly but if they get picked every game and get lots of '10' ratings and 'man of the match' awards their stats and values go up. Makes sense really.
