Transfer Budget Pressures

Hi,

Quick brief intro into what's occurring- I'm Man Utd manager in 2021. Won the league each season and Champions League last 2 or 3 so I have a good team.

I have just survived a takeover and the new board took away all the philosophies and increased the transfer budget to £215 million.

The media are saying I'm overachieving as I'm winning trophies with one of the lowest net spends but I am just trimming the squad as I felt it was too big.

Would you not spend anything, buy a marquee signing to appease the board and media or buy youth prospects to send on loan in the hope they become class?

I usually try and fill out my U23s and U18s with youth prospects and try to blood them in to the first team.

Are the board moaning about no marquee signings or just the media commenting on it?

Just the media at the moment. I am concerned the board will jump in on it as I'm selling a few fringe players and they increased the transfer budget.

I might well buy a few youth prospects as you say
