I've started a save with Manchester United, my starting budget was ?33m. After that I've had 3 consecutive budgets of around ?10m at the start of each season... This seems really low to me, and certainly isnt enough to buy in any decent players...

Anyone else had this or noticed it??

Wow 33 million and a complaint?!

I'm managing Ipswich Town and if we had 33 million to spend, we would be extremely sorted and not worrying about should I really pay for their wages.

But in truth I found last years Town had 3.4 million to spend and this years we only had 100k.

It maybe the new rules in football

Was more a complaint towards the ?10m :P 33m is more around the mark i'd like...

Yeah it maybe, but other clubs still seem to be spending big around me, without selling much... Liverpool for example spent near 30m without selling anyone in the 3rd season

dont forget man u have a big dedt to pay of... and with the ffp in place you practically have to make money to spend money ie sell a player or a few etc etc.

Yeah that's true, but even in real life they manage to spend over 10m...

And id if already sold a few players in my first season in order to buy a few...

I'm running with a thin squad now, only 1 LB and 3 CM's, and only 10m to buy in...

Welcome to the financial fair play rule. Your board is probably limiting the budget in order to keep away from breaking this rule.

Indeed in RL the FFP is not yet completely implemented by the big clubs. In the next few years there will be clubs in problems due to this rule.

Have a look at 20 year old left back Jake Bidwell from Brentford he might be a good buy.. or take Aaron Cresswell from Ipswich, he is a good left back and could be a good understudy for your first choice one. If not theres always Lee Wallace from Rangers who is cheap and cheerful.

You could split some payments through monthly etc might help stretch out the 10m

Thanks for your replies! I love playing with United, but I also like having a decent budget to work with... Are the other top prem teams also going to have the same low budgets?? Or is it the debt causing uniteds?

Thanks for the suggestions Kirk, I'll take a look at those LBs!

The thing is though, with utd, in real life, despite the debt they are actually one of the few clubs that make a profit even after including paying the debt liabilities, whereas teams like city are turning huge losses so in the game utd should actually be able to spend more than city on the financial fairplay basis.

Utd's finances need to be corrected as they are way off, they make a massive loss every month on the game when in reality they actually turn large profits.

Yeah I totally agree, it needs fixing! I really want to get started with a club though!

will Spurs have these low budgets too? I enjoy playing with them as well!

would rather not play as City, being a United fan :P or Chelsea...

Spurs spent loads over the summer... I would be surprised if they have nothing left.

United lose money every month but their sponsorship deals put them way back up into profit. Once the loans are repaid the transfer budgets will increase greatly.

And I believe monthly instalments are taken out of future budgets (At last!), and I think I noticed it tells you how much will be taken out when you are bidding for a player

Any idea how long the loans will take to pay off??

I'm just starting my 4th season...

That's ok Ben, I got a few more suggestions and when I look through my shortlist of good youth to sign I suggest them to you if you want?

Well I've actually just started a save with Spurs, but I still want good youth so yeah please do!

Would love to hear any suggestions you have though, enjoy buying young players!

I only started with 10M first season with Chelsea, but I thought "Hey, they have already bought a few players, so this is actually pretty realistic"
Got 40M next season. :)

At the start of my second season at Man United I got ?119m to spend. Not sure why you don't have nearly as much. In fact, I've no clue why I have that much to spend.
