Preseason

Transfer Budget : 2,5 M

Transfers in :

Gonzalo Jara - Im dellghted with signing wing back from chile on a free transfer, definetly weakest position until now
Jones Okore - young 19years old centreback from nordsjelland with 4* ability and 4,5* potential is and will be one of key players on my path ; bought from Nordsjelland for €2,4M
Ivan Kelava - backup goalkeeper bought from Grenada for 800k (he was transfer listed and is my favourite goalkeeper)
Maxi Moralez - after failing on buying Leonard Kweuke, Vaclav kadlec and Alessandro Diamanti, Maxi was best option for left winger and he costed €5,75M from Atalanta

Transfers out

David Lofguist
Raffaele Palladino
Aleandro Rosi

Interesting but all 3 players sold to same club? (Fiorentina) and for same reason (wages bigger then ability and potential)

As its very noticable away form is awful 1 win , 2 draws and 3 losses...On good hand Sotiris Ninis had a great month and Ishak Belfodil scored in 4 of 5 games he played.

December

Parma 2 - 0 Napoli

Best Scorer : Amauri 4
Best Player : Gabriel Paletta

Tough loss in first round from Siena, cup was big chance for Europe next year but reserve squad couldnt handle Siena players. Gonzalo Jara; player with which i was delighted when i snapped him on a free transfer is far from good buy, in 3 months he got injured 3 times and now i will be without him for 5 months and his new replacement is 16 years old player valued 30k :) . Beside that 4 wins in 4 matches including 2 away games and win against big squad (Napoli) is boosting cnofidence that we will manage to get in Europe next season and Ishak Belfodil is continuing with amazing performances and constant scoring.

Will definitely be following this. The teams I hate the most in the Football World is Juventus and A.C. Milan. I am a Borussia Dortmund fan and I would rather see Bayern Munich win a football match then see those guys win, that is how much I hate them.

I am always a sucker for the underdog, so I wish you luck and hopefully we will see Parma mount a challenge

Transfers in

Alessandro Diamanti - finally bought for €5,75M one of best Italian wingers available for Parma, i expect very much for him and he could be one of my key players for next 2 years

Transfers out
Amauri - sold to Roma for 2,3M he was good backup with big wage so this was irresistable offer especially when Diamanti can play a striker and Belfodil is in awesome form (im playing most games with only 1 striker)
Danielle Galloppa - sold to Lazio for 6M what is amount big enough to sell solid CM and give more chance to Parolo who will sadly leave as after this season (return to siena) because he dont worth 7,5m what is asking price and soon to join wonderkid Alen Halilovic

FINAL STANDINGS

Final look back at first season

Parma tied their best finish in Serie A what was by media pretty unexpected (11th on media prediction), so in their first season with new manager Marcijan Pavlovic they qualified for UEFA Champions League , improved their youth facilities and can look forward with smile on their faces even tho they dont have trophie yet.

Ishak Belfodil was best scorer of club with 22 goals, Sotiris Ninis was best assistant wih 9 assists and added 9 goals too, Maxi Moralez had 5 goals and 7 assist jamie valdes had 5 goals and 7 assists too, marrone and parolo added nice performances too parolo with 6 goals and 6 assists and marrone with 6 goals and 3 assists. Diamanti scored 8 goals and assisted 5 times, from defenders Gabriel Paletta had average rating of 7,57 and he was best in club belfodil had 7,56 , Jores okore had great first season for parma too , he had 7,30 average rating and scored one goal.Antonio Mirante had clean sheet in 15 games (2nd in the league , only better was Abbiatti) and had average performance of 7,05.

Juventus won Serie A and they didnt lose first 21 games, Cagliari made big suprise finishing 4th in league, Inter finished 7th and Milan 10th but Milan won Coppa Italie by beating Juventus in final 1 - 0 with goal by mario Balotelli in extra time , but 2 biggest suprises were Livorno who didnt win single game and Fiorentina who were relegated what means that players like Stevan Jovetic,Giuseppe Rossi, Adem Ljajic,Gonzalo Rodriguez and Khouma Babacar are on sale and this could be great chance for Parma to become little stronger in next transfer market with additional funds because great season.

Next update will come in 2 weeks

Nice one, well done.

Parma has a very good (and big - which means additional funds second season) squad. They always seem to do well in the league in FM13.

Diamanti is quite good (had him in Bologna for a season before replacing him with the much better ASPAS). But somebody like Fabbrini would be a much better option (esp if you factor age in ).

Fabbrini was stolen from me by Roma, so far Diamanti is playing adequat but will buy replacement for him in January

Brilliant thread mate. Only 3 or 4 defeats is quality for a club considered mid table by many. I'm a huge Serie A and Italy fan and i want to start an Italian save myself just unsure how low down to start so any tips or advice would be great. Keep this save going i definitely want to see more!

From my extensive experience with the Italian leagues AC MILAN and Inter almost NEVER do well (and both but especially AC Milan are two of the easiest "top" teams on FM to beat).

Much more difficult to beat are: Napoli / Juventus / Parma

Ok, I only thought that because everytime I sim a league Juventus, A.C. Milan and Inter are always in the top 3. Mind you this season Inter are close to relegation whilst Genoa and Fiorentina are fighting for top spot each week.

Gota agree. I struggle against Juventus in particular while Inter i find comfortable to play against at home in particular. Looking to start an Italian game so my try and make one of these teams better. Not sure who though
