Trying to sell players

OK, so I'm Man Utd in season 1 (About 4 months in), but I've already got quite a big squad. In fact, this my list of transfers in:

Rodwell
Akinfeev
Hazard - Winter 2011

As for my list of transfers out:
Kuszczak - Loan
Gibson - Loan

You guessed it, no one else wants to go (Apart from a whole bunch of youngsters out on loan). If I'm honest, I did edit the database to see what the transfer budget would be like if you removed all of Utd's debt (I think it was around £120 mil if you say you will win the league).

However, I do want to get rid of some players. Kuszczak doesn't want to go, even though he's on loan to Barca for one season. Gibson is on loan to Villa for a season, with a clause for a £7.5m transfer. But I really want to get rid of:
Owen
Obertan
O'Shea
And the two above.

However, these guys refuse to be budged. Whenever I offer them to clubs, I get no offers or they reject them all. What to do?

And also, as a side note, when do VDS, Neville, Giggs and Scholes retire?

Have you patched the game?

The transfer bug was a major issue until the latest patch.
