16.3 TWISTER!

Welcome to the tactic Twister, which is produced in patch 16.3. The first version is a version that is focussed at being a solid tactic whilst scoring more than the opponent. Make sure, if you use the first version of Twister, you don't expect a lot of 6-7-8 goals per match, but just at winning the game while getting not much through. But don't always blame the tactic, try to understand which players are needed and manage to get these players. The counter version is just a tweaked V1 Twister tactic (4-1-4-1) with a counter mentality and is also a tactic that is focussed at being a solid tactic. I will focus on a new tactic with the focus at scoring many goals.

SCORING MORE GOALS TWEAK. (OPTIONAL)

Not scoring as many goals as your squad is predicted? Got a good squad with good passers and pace at front? Try the team instruction 'pass into space' and set 'shoot less' for your midfielders and attackers at player instructions. Make sure you only set this when really needed or just in (for example) home games. This makes your team pass more killer balls but this also makes your team lose the ball more. So, just use this when having pretty good passers at midfield and pace at front.

This counter version got nearly the same results but didn't lose as many game as V1, but played more games in a draw. This tactic should be working better for the better teams in a league (1 to 10th prognosed teams).

Below you can find the opposition instructions and some results. I tested the tactic in a Tactic Testing League and with West Ham United a few fast first months. You can select the training you'd like to, but make sure you give your players the rest they need by rotation management or just selecting rest before- and after the match. If you like to test other opposition instructions, no problem. Let me know if they work great for you. I never focus on attacking set pieces (as long there is no ultimate one) so I took some I could find around the internet. Thanks to the creator of that standard situation.

Recommendings

1. Use left footed players at the MR/AMR position and use right footed players at the ML/AML position. I also recommend to use right footed defenders at the DCR/WBR/DR position and left footed defenders at the DCL/WBL/DL position. These little things can bring you the win you need.

2. Make sure the tactic is fluid by playing 8 to 10 friendly matches. A good manager finds a way to rotate your players in orde to keep the morale high and to get all your players match-fit. You can also organize some friendly matches in-season for the reserve players.

3. I haven't set a corner taker. Make sure you do select the free kick taker and the penalty taker to get the best out of your standard situations. Again, I haven't focussed on an attacking set piece, so credits to the creator of that set piece.

4. If you don't have much money press the F5 button on your keyboard and select the filter 'available for loan' (or something). Make sure you scout all the players in that list with your best scout and pick the best players on loan you can get if they suit the tactic. You can do this also with filters like 'at transfer list', 'contract ended' etc. If you only get unrealistic player option in the list you can select at the right above button 'select realistic players (on loan)'. You can also make a combination of the filters above and the player abillities below.

5. Train your players to the role they play in the tactic. If you want to ask more of some players you can select other roles like the complete wingback role for backs and the advanced playmaker role for midfielders central.

I've tried to create 4-1-2-2-1 tactics sooo many times in FM16, but couldn't get it constantly working. I hope you will get more luck Koen.

Well, for 1 to 10th prognosed teams it should be very solid at the back, as I did some more tests. Hope to get more results from people to see if this is a constantly tactic. I agree with you Zyndar, and personally a shame the 3ST tactic doesn't dominate as they did in other editions. Your 3ST V2 is still the best one for me I have tried!

View attachment 170576 V1 Twister - CE ! I have CM's with poor long shot and finishing so i added Shot less often to my cm's ! Check the results after Tg.Mures match ! Awesome result !Great tactic ! (Now is 4:10 AM , and i still play with this phenomenal tactic ! Great work !!!

So this tactic is for patch 16.2?? and not the new one?

This using just one version or alongside the counter version?
85% with the control version, 15% with the counter version. Counter version works a bit better with bigger teams. But on the other side, that will count for almost all tactics.

Why is het so hard to make a AMC version these FM, ;)

i think the V1.1 suits me better, but these season i have to finish with wampley's version.
next season i try Twister :)

ChristianEriksen can you add me on steam my gt: cmihd

ChristianEriksen, this tactic looks like promising, but there's a mistake in the OP i think, you use left-footed players on the left part of the tactic (AML, DL, DCL) and right footed for right part, is that it ?

Do you use individual training ?

A corner/free kick tactic is integrated with ?

Thanks for your work !! (and sorry for my bad english)

Ah thanks, I updated the opening post. Good luck with the test and please let me know. Individual training and standard situations check the other recommendations.

Hey mate, I don't think this is a mistake. I guess what's on the OP is right.
The tactic uses INSIDE FORWARDS, so they tend to cut inside and shoot on goal or pass the ball to the ST or opposite IF.
If they were left foot to left position and right foot to right, he'd have used WINGERS.

You should think Ronaldo, Neymar, Ribery, Reus, Hazard, Depay... all right footed on the left, or Robben, Hulk, Douglas Costa, Bale, Di Maria... all left footed on the right.

General training and match preparation are the same as the tactical LET'S overachieve! ?
