Hello everyone. I started out with a Dutch team were I got fired and then moved on to Aldershot in League Two. After three seasons I have brought them to a midtable position in The Championship. I have also repaired my reputation so that I have become national. My stats are ok, except for the "Finacial Control", which is only three. The funny thing is that my club is richer then ever (thanks to my shrewd wealings and dealings). I have applied for several jobs, since I have taken Aldershot as far as possible, but it seems to be impossible for me to get hired. Just now, Cardiff chose a fellow with regional reputation instead of me. Could it be that my poor financial control is preventing me from getting hired anywhere? Need to know, because it kind of takes the fun out my game, if I can never change clubs. Any ideas?

This is one of the mysteries of the game to me. I once took Everton to the CL final, won the league twice and fa cup. Yet resigned after ultimating that I wanted a bigger stadium, and couldn't get a job anywhere. Had World Class rep and was labelled young talented manager. Sometimes I believe nationality can be critical but I cannot help I'm afraid.

It annoys me because I have applied so many jobs, including national teams, such as Wales and other minor nations. I also keep seeing the other clubs appoint manager that also have a national reputaion, but have not accomplished anything. Sometimes they have never managed before as the clubs hire retired players instead of me, in spite of my good results with Aldershot (have been predicted to relegation every year). I just need to know wether the reason could be my lack of financial control. If so, I might consider quitting, since I imagine it will take several seasons to get up from my current stat of three. Another thing is that I have done quite well this season with the wage budget, but my financial control has not improved. What could I do to improve this stat?

just go on holiday and select apply for all jobs and tick the box that says return when offered a job.

i find not being at a club already helps, if your currently with aldershot, no one may want to pay compensation to them for you. it may help if you resigned your position.
With applying for international jobs your nationality will be a factor, and your reputation is only national in england. so even minor nations will overlook you.

hope this helps

Current world class manager unable to get a decent job!!

I had 5 years at Glasgow Rangers, won the league 4 out of 5 times, won the scottish league cup 5 times in a row and the scottish fa cup 5 times in a row, made the champions league semi-final once, and the champions league final once, which i lost 4-1 to real madrid. im also a world class manager. ( my contract only had 1 year to go because i rejected a new 4 year dela ) . after 5 years i decided i wanyed to move to the premier league and wanted to manage 1 of the top 6 clubs. man city, man utd, and liverpool were without managers so i applied for all 3 jobs thinking that the first 1 to offer me the job i would accept. however i was turned down on all 3 occasions. i thought that was strange. i then applied gor the vaccent managers job at barcelona as guardiola was the spain national coach, once again i was turned down, but the man they named as there new manager shocked me. it was non other than ROBBIE KEANE. Hmmmm now summing is not right with that, an unproven manger getting the job ahead of a world clas PROVEN maneger like me. i then jokingly applied for the portmouth job, who had finished 7th in the championship, again i lost out to keith millen. I would like to know if this is a bug because i got turned down for at least 10 more jobs in the championship, and everytime i declared my interest in a top division club, they would laugh off interest saying i had no chance of gertiing the job. what i thought was also strange was i was never linked with any job when i was rangers manager over that 5 year spell, yet on fm 10 i was offered the man city job after 3 good years at rangers. i eventually got the west brom job at the second time of asking, but it didnt last long as i was angry that i hadnt been able to a get a top prem club job. Any response would be appreciated.

After I quit from Atletico Madrid (winning everything there is to win), I waited for something to become available and after a few months decided to go with Las Palmas. Quit at the end of the season as it wasn't going anywhere fast and then actually went looking at clubs outside Spain and found some teams allowed you to click "show interest" or something along those lines. They had managers at the time, but apparently the position wasn't very secure. After I showed interest, Spurs actually fired Martin Jol in order to get me.

So it seems like just waiting for a job to become available isn't always the best choice.
