Unable to sign free agents

So... playing along in my Ebbsfleet save in 2019 and at the end of the season I try to sign players whose contracts are expiring in July 2019, apart from on the 1st of June the option to Approach to Sign the players never appeared. Thinking this was due to their contract still running out on the 30th June I wait until the 1st of July to try and sign players when it appears that they are still at their club with no contracts and I'm still unable to Approach to Sign any of them.

I'm in the 3rd of July now and still unable to sign anyone due to the contracts not expired so is my save screwed now?

im currently doing an mk dons save and had the same problem trying to sign players nearing the end of their contract.had to wait until they were free agents by which time id lost out on some signings

Have you had Brexit by chance?

I haven't seen any Brexit messages so far.

Looks like I'll have to give up this save then considering I have a transfer budget of about 20k and 12 players left since my players got released on July 1st whilst no one elses did.
