Unavailable player for no reason?

Hi I have just signed a player on a free and he's unavailable for what I can only see as no reason... Being ****** off I went on the editor and added him to my club (didn't work still can't play) and then deleted his previous club as I though he may have played for too many teams in a calendar year but nope still can't play ?! Anyone have any ideas at all ?

Note - I only added him to club on editor as I know I can sign him and it's easier to check if he's still unavailable
 
Michu was released by Swansea after the transfer deadline IRL, so he can't be registered until Jan.
 
Pain in the *** I can use the data editor to change that right ?
 
same with me with adebayor he is also unavailable

That's because he is unavailable to play for anyone until Jan, IRL and FM. He (and the others like Michu) were released AFTER the transfer deadline ended, so they're bound to their old clubs until they can be unregistered.
